Opinions please - what is my car worth

Hi All,

Long time lurker new time poster

I was hoping to leverage the brains trust. I’m in Melbourne and have a e92 m3 competition, dct.

It was built in November 2012 and I believe it’s MY13 (I think). It’s white, with black wheels and the CF roof. 34,500km so very lightly used and in excellent condition. It’s our second car / my fun car, and wanting to get a 718GTS (pls don’t judge me!) as I really want a convertible.

I also have the 10 year / 100k km basic service pack extension, car was first registered in May 2013, so free basic servicing til 2023.

I was wondering what its worth private sale and if it would be hard to move (as opposed to trading it in)? Thoughts greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Sold a similar 2011 (White, Comp Pack, DCT, full service history but no longer qualifies for BSI) for $59k last month via a private sale. Had a large number of enquiries. Mileage was only slightly more at 45k km. A BMW dealer is happy to take it in for $50k (I didn’t bother to negotiate). I’d say you should at least aim for min. $62k for a private sale.

Thank you, that’s very helpful

May I ask what you listed it for initially?

Or...
You could keep it, leave it in the garage, keep the kms low and just enjoy staring at it for a decade or so. Then see if your going to sell it
Just my 2 cents..
