Thinking of selling

Hey guys I am thinking of selling my garage queen. 2009 E92 Melbourne Red MT 23,903 miles. Premium package, Technology package, EDC, 19 in wheels, Moonroof, Carbon Fiber interior, Extended bamboo beige interior, Enhanced sound, Ipod and USB adapter, The car has every option except the alarm and cold weather package. It is in immaculate condition. I am throwing around the idea of selling because I have a family of 5 and never drive it because we don't all fit. I am trying to get an estimate of how much it is worth and any help would be great. Thanks Scrappy

prices for e92 are all over the place. I am looking at a car local to me, 2008 full options, 6mt, CF roof, 22k miles, seller is asking $22k...

+1.

1 owner no accident helps alot. Very low miles. 6mt. Pretty desirable car for sure. Sometimes it seems these very low mile ones take a bit of time to sell since they command a higher price but I am willing to bet that someone would be happy to pick that up for mid 30s in a matter of time.

I don't think you're going to get mid-30s for that. It's a 10 year old car. Yes, it's an M3 and it's 6MT with low mileage, but most people are still going to see it as a 10 year old car.

Scrappy, if you decide to sell it you should put it on BaT in my humble opinion. it is a beautiful car in a somewhat rare and desirable color combination. most folks will find the sunroof to be a negative, but I would be really surprised if you couldn't get mid to high 30's for it if you hired a professional photographer, got a dealer PPI, included detailed service history, etc... GL if you decide to sell.

You'll have to find someone who wants a low mileage MR coupe who's willing to pay.

Problem for the e92/e93 market right now is you can get f8x m3's with sub 30k miles for high $30's and people who are looking for a daily driver m3/m4's will opt for those all day. They're more reliable, have current tech, faster and obviously newer. Now of course most of us will argue they're not as fun to drive but personally if I had to daily one I'd go for an f8x.

Now the low mileage 08 for 22k I would imagine belongs to someone who tried to trade it in and got offered $20k and he just wants a little extra for it. It's probably worth more just depends if he wants to put the work in to sell it. Financing old m3s also comes into play, I would imagine borrowing to buy an 11 year old car is expensive.

financing is already approved at 3.5%(my credit union). i just have to determine if i want to deal with flipping it or not... But yes, that is the exact scenario, lowball trade-in offer = low asking price.

Lack of carbon roof weighs pretty heavily against it given the segment you are trying to appeal to. I'd list it for $33k and see what happens. You could always try Enthusiast Auto Group and see if they would buy it.

What credit union is offering 3.5% on an 11 year old car?? What are the terms?

Sorry, not meaning to derail, but I think I need a new credit union!

Based on what I have seen on BaT and other sites you are sitting in great shape.

I estimate your car to be worth in excess of $30k. I would post it up there with a hefty reserve.

Provident Credit Union. I have financed and paid off 2 cars with them in the last 3 years, dunno if that matters.

I said this in another low mileage thread.

"Put it on Bring A Trailer for sure. It's $99 and simply set a reserve. Your car will receive a lot of activity."

There are people like myself that will only consider low mile examples with solid maintenance and ownership history. These cars, no matter what the options. will command a premium. I would say $35 at the absolute minimum. If you get a few likeminded people that love the color combo and the car checks all of the other boxes, who knows?

If I were in your situation, I'd put it up on craigslist or auto trader for sale and maybe set the price a bit higher and see the kind of responses you get. It doesn't look like you're in a rush to sell so you can ignore the low ballers and take your time to wait for the right buyer.

To me, this car is worth about 32-35K
