Maybe on an e90. I tested that tire on my e92 with 11 et28 wheels and it didn't fit. 10.5 et27 should fit similarly but it may work. It fits easily on an E90 with 11 et28.

Thanks slicer.

Anyone comment on how they are on track compared to PSC vs RE71R?
RE71R doesn't fit my 10.5 wheels idealy and PSC are similar price as these.
I've been impressed with RE71R but never tried PSC or A052.

Any input would be appreciated.

I have not personally tested all of the above options on the e92. I have only ran Cup2 and HankookTD on this car (in addition to AD08, Hankook RS3, BFG Rival on previous M3's). I have gone through a few sets of cup2. I don't think they are the fastest tires out of the options you listed but they have great street manners and generally hold up over multiple track days. I say generally because I have had issues with the front outer edges wearing quickly. So quickly that the rear tires and the insides of the front tires have only a few 32nds of wear while the front outer are toast after a few track days. I'm not sure whether that's a weakness of the tire or my setup, or both. My front camber plates are maxed out at about -3.5 degrees. I can add more by adjusting the lower SPL arms. I also plan to experiment with my toe settings (currently at zero toe in front). I have noticed that M4 GTS guys have been complaining about the same issue with Cup2's. The TD's are NLA so there's no reason to discuss them.

* Note that I have a cage that prevents me from having the ability to haul 4 wheels and tires. Therefore I have been limited to a tire that can get me to and from the track. I have contemplated a roof rack or trailering the car but I like keeping things simple. I'm not competing in Bimmer Challenge, my track days are limited, and my lap times are decent but I'm not the fastest guy out there. Take that into consideration when I tell you my opinion.

I spoke with someone that is a better driver than myself and puts down great lap times (he competes in Bimmer Challenge). He told me that his lap times are fastest with A052, next is RE71R, and lastly NT01. He didn't run Cup2 so I don't know where they compare. However, I think the Cup2's biggest advantage is longevity (if you don't have my outer edge wear problem) and street ability (relatively quiet). Also remember that the Cup2 has posted a number of records on the GT3 however I think that Michelin and Porsche have developed the tire to a much higher level in GT3 sizing when compared to the 265/295 - 18" version

Have you considered the Nexen SUR4G? The 10.2" tread width would fit a 10.5" wheel nicely. They are considered the same points as the RE-71R and the AO52's in the Bimmer Challenge series and are priced a bit cheaper than the RE-71R. Now whether or not they are actually as fast is yet to be seen. However, one of the Bimmer Challenge drivers ran a 1:58 at Buttonwillow on the prior gen SUR4 (non-G) in an E92 with one-way coils, and almost no weight reduction. That's a very fast time for such a lightly modded-E92 on non-cheater 200tw tires. It was a pretty warm day as well (mid-high 70's).

Thanks for the info guys.
I'm coming from Nitto NT05's so any of the above should be a major improvement!

Has anyone tried to Nexen SURG4G?

I've been trying to get the A052 but my TireRack shows only the rears available and only 5 in stock and no fronts. My local tire guys says he called Yokohama and they gave now time frame for availability for the tire. He said this usually happens when they stop production???

Agreed. I highly doubt that they are discontinuing the tire. I think that it's simply a very hot tire - especially in 265/35/18. That being said, I don't like to hear that. It's my favorite tire right now.

This happens all the time with the hot tires from Korea. There's a container or two full of these on a ship headed somewhere, and it'll get here eventually, or maybe the container fell into the sea (On average, ~20 shipping containers fall into the sea every day, after all), or...they'll get here eventually hope you bought 3 sets when they were here!

LOL. I believe it.
But the RE71R in my sizes are limited supply too and I'm waking almost 2 weeks for them to come in. He also said the Yoko AD08 were out at the warehouse in my size. Maybe I need a new tire guy but he's checking with the manufacturer first because it's cheaper that way.

Elsewhere, I've heard that Yokohama is going to sell off existing stock and reissue the tire in 1/32's more tread depth (7.2/32's) with the intent on it being reclassified UHP so it can then be run in other series such as SCCA. This is supposed to be occuring in the next month or two. That would explain why a relatively new tire is being phased out.

RS4s are basically having the same problem. Constantly showing as "out of stock for the season" or whatever. These tire companies are really missing an opportunity here.

but the RS4 isn't in the same category.

It seems like the A052 is similar to the RE71R, a fast street tire

The RS4 seems to be more like the AD08R, a long lasting, slower street tire

Interesting, hopefully they come back soon. Was planning on giving the 295/30/18 square a shot here shortly. Tirerack pulled that size off their site & yoko only has info on 225/45/17 on their site.

These are the indicated sizes and specs. Not really going to work for my application as I need 275/35-18. I might try the 265's if they look to work for autocross.

Doesn't mean the RS4 (another popular track tire) is immune from shortages during peak season. I was just talking to someone about this at the track earlier this week. He has been trying to get RS4s for months from Tire Rack.
