little thread bump here... picked up a bone stock e92 two weeks ago. Went to cars and coffee last weekend, only saw an e93 wrapped some flat color though! Hopefully see some of you soon.

StateRoute 89A between prescott valley and cottonwood. Alot of twists and turns and elevation change.

SouthMountain has a road to the peak in south phoenix (laveen area kinda) if you're looking for something closer to town.

If you want to make a day trip, come down to Tucson through Globe, then have lunch and go up Mt. Lemmon. It's very busy durring the day, but if you go up at night its wide open and it's a great road. If you want more info PM me.

Yea, roads around metro Phoenix are efficiently boring, ie. straight. I did some research on the web and there was mention of the drive in the east valley through tortilla flats. I've driven that, it was okay but road condition was crappy I thought.

I think the 89a coming down from Flagstaff to Sedona along Oak Creek is a great, scenic drive. Definitely more of a day trip thing though, not a drive near the city. You can make stops along the way and make a good time of it!

Have you been to one before? I have not, I got the feeling they cater more to the participants rather than the spectators. I could be wrong though.

Never been, I'm hoping there is a good spectator atmosphere. The description on their FB page seems like its a good time. I'm thinking of checking it out in case others would like to meet up.

Hey all,

Been in this weird area where Tempe, Scottsdale and Mesa meet for about a week now. Finally got the apartment squared away and am freshly laid off (it's a good thing).

I drive a Colorado plated 08 AW e92 with M performance exhaust and the CF bits. I've found that I'm the only one that drives with my windows down (Winter is still haunting me) around here, so that's probably a better way to spot me...

Anyhow, I've been seriously struggling to find good places to grab a beer or get food. Yelp and I seem to be enemies.

Do we do any meets of any sorts here? Would love to meet up with the locals and get some contacts for various metro area questions, etc. I have PLENTY of time on my hands, haha. Also looking to do some Fall/Winter sports, so if that's your thing, ping me!

It may be just fine for spectators, but the info on this page made me feel like it might be better to be a participant and not a spectator...

Welcome welcome, i too am usually windows down unless heading to work.
I'm new here to m3post, so i'm not aware of any bmw meets for us az people. There is a local car show that is hosted every saturday night near 101 freeway and indian bend road; called the pavilions, but it incorporates every type of vehicle from classics to new cars.

There's another 1/2 mile event called RaceWars...which appeared to be more tailored towards both the participant and spectator, but they currently don't have an event planned.

Link for info: http://racewarsaz.com/

Hi all!

I am a longstanding BMER owner, on my second M3 a 2008 black convertible 6 speed manual; bought new 100% stock.

Nothing like a V8!

I live in old town a few miles from you. I go to cars and coffee every now and then. Regarding good beers and food, Four Peaks is not far from you.

I also drive a AW e92 with black comp wheels.

Gotta try Rehab burger, if you haven't been. Best burgers in Phoenix. I live in old town as well, and i frequent that place all the time.
