Best touch up for matte black wheels?

I have Avant Garde M359 matte black wheels and tire shop did some slight damage that I would like to touch up.

I contacted Avant Garde and they did not really have much recommendation for a touchup color code.

I know a lot of folks run the AG M359 or even the OEM ZCP real BMW wheels on the E9X M3 forums. They are both matte black so if anyone have used some touch up I'd be interested to know what you used.

For me I'd just have it refinished. Should be about $125 per wheel for a full refinish

I find it difficult to pay to refinish a whole wheel just because of a small spot that annoys me. Plus this wheel was crack repaired I think I would buy a new wheel if it breaks again rather than doing a refinish or repair again.

A wheel refinish locally here is definitely more than 125$, I had my left wheel refinished since I curb rashed half of it... IIRC it was around 190$.

How big is the blemish? If it's small, I'd just find some cheap matte black touch-up paint at an auto parts store -- you probably won't be able to tell unless you're right up-close and know where to look.

If the small spot annoys you now, then having touch up paint on top of it will probably annoy you as well. Because you'll know it's still not perfect. That would bother me.

I'm in the SF Bay Area so one of the most expensive places on the planet and wheel refinishing here is definitely less than $190. I got all 4 of my 19" ZCP wheels on my e46 refinished recently for $125/wheel at a reputable shop.

It's gonna annoy me much less if it's black on black than silver on black.

Guess I'll just pick random touch ups and try them.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This dries to a nice satin, blended well and has held up well.

I'll try to find something like that on Canada. Man my choices in Canada are almost nothing lol.

EDIT: Actually found the exact same pen and priced similarly on Amazon Canada.

Thanks again. Applied it today and it's definitely not eye catching anymore!

Hey have you been using it personally? I applied it a few times now and seems like it always comes off. Tried to prep the surface with alcohol and wax grease remover but the mark is always there after some time.

Do you apply more than one coat?

I did see that in the reviews but it has held up for me... I'm not sure what I'm doing different. Sorry to hear...
