iPod not working properly in 2009 M3 - help

Hi there,

I have a brand new 2009 M3. I have iPod integration and it came with a "Y" cable. My iPod is a previous veneration (color and photo) iPod 60GB. I've also tried all this with my iPhone 3G as well.

When I plug the iPod into the USB port (either of them), nothing plays. When I plug the iPod into both the USB and the AUX port i the center console, it will play, but I can only control it through the device itself, not through iDrive.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

You have to have it connected to both the AUX and USB port. The AUX port provides the audio, the USB provides the iDrive connectivity and charging. When you have it connected to both, can you view the device in iDrive? you should be able to browse artists, genre, songs, etc.

It does in fact charge, but there's no control through the iDrive.
