recaro sportster install

hey yall,

First off- whoever said that swapping the seats out is easy is fully shit. what a PITA. fitting the seat belt receptacles, lining up the sliders, etc- sheesh. Spent 5 hours today and its still not 100% (i just cant figure out how to get the sliders to line up to roll with ease).

I had a question on the brackets/sliders, and the info on the forums i've found is either incomplete, or muddled:

I went with planted brackets, with Recaro sliders- but the seat height is virtually the same as the stock seats. Can those of you with Sportsters + sliders chime in which brackets net the lowest ride height? Am i spinning my wheels with trying to retain the sliders?

Wow sucks to hear they are near same height as stock. That was my #1 reason I was about to go down the exact same setup. Good luck. I'm sure some one can recommend.

BK mounts on OE rails is the way to go. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and it's very easy.

That said, I also wish it sat 1-2" lower. Car had them when I bought it so I can't comment vs stock but compared to my Recaro bucket seat I feel like I'm back to sitting very high up.
