The M3 is my 2nd black car and it's killing me. I literally don't drive it so I don't have to clean it. Lol. This was my first... |

How I keep my black car looking good:
Don't buy a black car and just admire everyone else's It's not possible, I used to have a black Camaro SS and gave up trying to keep it perfectly clean before selling it. The clean mirror shine lasts a day at most before road dust, pollen, random roadside sprinklers, random rain showers, and finger prints attack it. I would have it looking perfect on Saturday, Sunday it was starting to dull and if I was lucky by Monday it would still look 7/10 clean. |

I have ceramic coating (Optimum Gloss-Coat) on 2 of my cars. I won't do it again. The paint easily gets water spots. In the future, I will just use a good sealant.

The struggle is real, my friend. Sometimes I actively avoid looking at my car because I KNOW I'll find something to clean and don't have time for that shit, haha. Plus, I have two kids who are absolute ARTISTS at trashing up the back seats of a vehicle. The E90 has a strict, zero-tolerance "no food, no drink, no feet near the leather" policy. As a reward for good behavior I let them do whatever the hell they want in the back of the Prius. This is also my second black car. Coming from a Java Black Pearl WRX that saw its early demise at the hands of an overzealous deer. |

Black is absolutely the best color.
Black is undoubtedly also the worst color to keep looking fresh. Don't listen to people who say wipe it with a duster or anything like that. If you want black to look pristine, you have to be super delicate. No joke. Go get your car paint corrected and then ceramic coated - or alternatively have them do a good sealant that you can maintain by adding more sealant/wax during maintenance washes. Then, if you want to keep it looking good... Don't wipe the paint with towels. Don't touch the paint. Don't even breathe on the paint. Hell, don't look at the paint wrong. Or you'll get swirl marks. Always do a touchless dry. No, this isn't 100% feasible which returns us to - black is the best color - but the worst to keep looking good. |

Never again, and that's living in a place where barely rains and the roads are clean. Not only that it gets dirty right after it's washed, but the tiniest paint chips are visible. Other than that, my favorite color. If I could choose now, I'd go with Space Grey
