Guys, which one would you take. Please be honest...

(2001) 996 TURBO with 50k+ miles

0r....

(2007) e92 335I, slightly modded with PROcede and rims....

If they were both brand new the 996 is a no brainer. However, with the Porsche having 50k+ miles, I'd have to go with the 335. The reasons being that the Porsche will cost an arm and a leg to maintain and it's not going to last as long as the 335. Also, being a 2001, it's going to be replaced in a few years. Soon you will be stuck with an older model. My $.02

If the Porsche had lower mileage, I would go with Porsche, but 50k miles is too much. In this case I have to go with BMW e92 335i.

I was truly looking foward to getting a e92 335i. :rocks:..But for some odd reason, I became in love with 996 Turbo. I think it was because I brought my Cayenne S to the "RUSNAK" dealer (A small porsche dealer). And I was waiting for my oil change. In front of me, I noticed a SPEED YELLOW 996 TURBO looking at me. I feel in love and did my research. I found out the 997 TURBO is out of my reach. I found a 996 TT with 51,000 miles, auto S tiptronic, for 55,669 dollars. The 2002+ models are pricey and expensive for me (17 years of age). The car I am talking about is the cheapest 996 I found. I love this car and would take it in any color.

the new one came out in 2005, so it's already the "old one"

to the OP, just get a new boxster S, it'd be a good stablemate to your cayenne

i would say you go with the 335i because. well. just because! lol seriously the milage on the 996 is no good, and maintanence will kill you. i dont think gas will compare to the money your going to spend maintaining it. but i dont know, if you really want it that bad and have that kind of money to churn out, then go for it. i would take the 335i Porceed because its new, and the chances of anything going wrong with it is going to be much lower. i also know for a fact that Porsche has clutch problem (my dad had one, so...). i mean, all cars have their fair share of problems, like the E90 with the tourenza tyres, but i guess thats what happpens. good luck with the descision, either way im sure you will be glad with your choice.

I would still go with the 335.........ALTHOUGH porsches engines are indestructible I swear. seen someone run 30 thousand miles without changing the oil and the car still drove fine.

That's my exact dilemma when my lease for my 325i ends next August, just not with so many miles on the 911 Turbo. I'm in love with that car, and actually prefer it over the new 997 Turbo, not a big fan of the round headlights. 50K miles is quite a lot for a car that eats an arm and leg for maintenance. In this particular situation, i'd go for the 335.

Depends on your personal finances. If you have a good income and a steady job, look at a Porsche. But not that used one, try to find a better deal.

Thanks but no thanks. The boxster S never appealed to me. Its like having a mini-girly carrera. If it were to come down to that, I would get a fully loaded 05 Caymen S.

I totally agree with you. The 996 has more of an appeal and stature. But the only thing I like about the 997, is the performance and thats it. I know 50k miles is to much, but everytime I search for a 969 Turbo less then 50k miles, the price sky rockets to 60,000+.

If your budget is around 55k, maybe you can look at 2005 regular 997 or 2006 Cayman S.

LOL, I wanna be turbocharged man. The 996 speaks for its self. Its a rare car. I think evryone has a 997 or cayman S. But i ono.

if you want rare, get a 993, that's way rarer than the 996
