My question is why is it on internet forums half the people shift at redline every time but in the real world you cant hardly find one of these people? I mean truth be told most of us have to drive in some kind of traffic even in a flogger car they're trying to get out to the open road. How does it work revving to 8400 with a car ten feet in front of you and ten feet behind when going stoplight to stoplight? Or just leaving the housing development with all the kids running around and such.

I really need to move to fantasyland where all the girls are hot, I'm a baller, and I can wring my car out every single time I get in it anywhere I want anytime I want.

Maybe you're just slow in the reaction department perhaps?

Now were you "that kid" in gym class that was always getting hit in the head during dodgeball games? Just joking around.
Well wise ass, it's something that's been discussed here several times before where guys (including myself) state that they are hitting the limiter about 500 rpms before actual red-line. It turns out that in some cars 1st gear is faster than the tach can register and you need to shift slightly before red-line.

Like you said, "most of us" drive in traffic.

I don't. I don't have to drive in traffic. Always go out late at night when the roads are wide open. I can hit the redline as many times as I want

regular driving 2500-3000. on rare occasion, bring it up to redline to let the engine flex a bit. That's what the engine is designed for, right?

I usually shift around 4K like everyone else, but noticed that a few spurts to redline in 3rd or 4th will make a noticeable dent in MPG even after 30 min of cruising on the highway.

Did you notice that it doesn't really cut out at 8,400 rpm in first with tire spin? .... I'm saw 8,5xx+ today during a hard launch and tire spin. Seemed like the first gear doesn't have a limiter ... or does the tach lie +/- 100 rpm?

Meant that it depends on whether the wife is in the car or not...

3000-3500 when she is with me and 5000 plus without her.

She gets car sick easy.
