does extended leather on the M3 mean leather on the dashboard as well? my E60 M5 has extended leather and it's leather with stitching on the dash.

Lower dash, yep.
Search for extended leathers in Fox Red or Silver or Beige, that will show it clearly.

extended is a MUST have option. If you order anything but a basic car, extended leather is awesome.

I have it in the M6 and would not get another car if offered again.

Is the dash not leather as well??

The extended leather in the M3 is nothing like that in the M6. Only underside of the dashboard and the side of the transmission tunnel is leather. There is no alcantara headliner either.

I don't understand bmw's logic, I have sat inside an m5 with full leather and it is simply beautiful. At least make it an option, I would have paid the premium for full leather. I guess they didn't want to step into the m5 and m6's luxury category.
