From RAC,

"All RAC wheels are constructed via “spread” forging. This process takes a single billet of 6061 aluminum and forges the entire one piece wheel under extreme heat and pressure (T6 and 8000 tons). The resulting product is a wheel that is unparalleled in strength and durability. The added strength is what allows the wheels to be built lighter than most competing products.

The e90/92 M3 wheel will be JWL and VIA certified. The new design will undergo extensive stress testing to insure that they exceed the above standards."

I have owned, BBS, HRE, OZ, Kinesis, and many other brands, and I can honestly say that RAC is one, if not the best wheel I have owned for my e46 M3. Quality, design, strength, weight, and a very attractive price...sets these wheels apart.

Lets put it this way, you can purchase HRE Monoblock wheels, and spend $5000+ for a set of 19s. They are forged too, but they are 4000 ton forged pressed, not 8000. The GB price for the RAC wheels are $3750.

There are only a handful of places in the world that can product a proper 8000 ton forged press monoblock wheel.
If Im wrong...please do correct me.

Exactly!!!
I would not be surprised if the Neez wheels are actually produced in the same factory, but you would have to ask Shep about that.
RAC wheels are produced in small batches and normally only if there is enough interest for a run of wheels and you are basically buying direct, so no retailer is involved so there is less mark up is my guess.
But again, Shep or Chuck are the the owners and the best ppl to ask.

FYI to the OP....You have ONLY until 6/22, THIS MONDAY, to send payment to them if you want to be included in the GB. This has been going on for several months and we finally all have everything in place to move forward, but that is the deadline. Talk to Shep if you have any questions about payment, deposit, etc

RAC wheels are made in the same factory as Neez. Basically the same wheel except ours look better.

Not to mention these RAC wheels are a custom fit for the e92 m3

Are the VOLK wheels made in the same factory? I've read posts where people say NEEZ and VOLK are made in the same factory.

And for the OP, HRE, DPE, 360 Forge(ry)/Forged Distributed are solid wheels, but don't really belong in the same category as the above mentioned wheels and the BBS forged wheels- which are also made in Japan.

Welcome to the neighborhood. I live about 30 mins north of the city (near Road Atlanta). Atlanta roads get pretty crowded, but the N Ga mountains are only an hour away. Time to unload your winter tires.

I didn't now about the meet, but Sat is pretty busy already. Got a graduation and get some clubs for the kids. I'm in Long Beach everyday from Westminster to PCH North.

OP, the thing with the RAC wheels is they're very rare; like this GB, there are only about 25 people who are getting a set. They may not have another production run for a few years, if ever. They're also priced very good for what you're getting, which is essentially a Champion wheel, which are normally $$$$.

The reason RAC wheels are top of the line quality and are still a very reasonable price compared to HRE, Neez, etc. is because they are done by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. I'm sure the RAC guys make a few bucks, as they should, but nowhere near the huge profits HRE and Neez make.

The ratio of price to quality (including design, looks, fitment, manufacturing process, attention to detail, finish quality, etc.) is simply untouchable by anything else on the market, PERIOD. It is almost too good to be true.

Get in quick, the GB is almost closed!
