I'm gonna be "that guy" and say if you want more power you need a supercharger. The stock engine is already near its peak NA performance potential and throwing things like an intake and pulley at it are a waste of time and money if you're looking for noticeable/worthwhile gains. Test pipes aren't a bad idea if you don't have to deal with emissions and the only mod I'd recommend if you don't want to spend the money on a 200hp gain.

I hear u I for sure want to supercharge eventually but for now I think I’m going to do alex@alpine’s performance and DCT tune then do the test pipes for now and save up for a supercharger in some time

OP said he didn’t have much to spend and this was his first mod. I ruled out a supercharger

You should do test pipes before/with the tune rather then after. A tune for primary cat delete is different than a tune for stock exhaust.

Sign up for a BMW CCA car control clinic, autocross, or driving school. The seat to steering wheel interface is the weakest part of the car, performance-wise.

I honestly suggest saving up for rod bearings if you haven't already done the job.

Agree. Dct and engine tune from Alex + Rogue Engineering Test Pipes would be the best bang for your buck mods. I mention Rogue Engineering specifically because their test pipes are half the price of other brands.

That will remove the front Cats which will give you your best performance/$. A tune will be needed after to remove the CEL but it is recommended to get a tune anyways just for the increase performance alone.

I got this: http://www.evolvetuning.us/bmw/bmw-3...ete-pipes.html
Here in Germany we have strict laws abot the emission as you know
With the primary cats deleted, I had no problems to pass the two-year main investigation
And since 01/01/2018 the car is no longer checked per OBD, but with a probe measurement in the exhaust.
With the correct software tune, deleting the check engine light, running the car warm before the investigation, there is no problem
Also i run a exhaust mod.
In combination withe the installed track pipes, the perfect sound for me and zero drone

Otherwise:
Coilovers would also improve your car, without a doubt

I just ordered AA test pipes. If I had not, I would take a good hard look at the resonated test pipes as I do not want drone. From what I have read, drone with test pipes is not too big of an issue if you leave the secondary cats and resonators in place.

I sure hope this is the case!!

I am happy that people sell these cars used! It allowed me to own one. But I really cannot understand why people would ever want to sell their E9x M3!!!

Bolt-on mods can be uninstalled, tunes can be removed.

But yeah, all mods are terrible investments. For that matter, almost all cars are terrible investments...

Half the fun of owning a car is modding it. A bolt on E92 M3 is a lot better than a stock M3...
