Awesome car...
Did you thin out your factory wiring harness? If so, how did you figure out what wires could be cut out without causing problems?

Thank you!

Racewerkz thinned it out somewhat when they built my cage, but told me that there is even more that can be done. I don't believe I have the know-how to thin it out further, so will take it somewhere in the future.

Would love to see a write-up that could help us find out which wires are needed and which aren't.

Ah, OK thanks. I would be comfortable doing it if I had access to all the wiring diagrams.

Haha pic was pre-wash! The car isn't exactly "car wash friendly" anymore

SPAL fan setup question

I was searching the forum for SPAL fan installs and yours was the only one I found! So, a question for you if you don't mind before I embark on setting one up on my car:

Assuming you are running the factory DME (?), does the DME care that its PWM fan speed control signal that used to connect to the OEM fan isn't connected to anything?

I'd assume "no" but someone is telling me that the DME will put the car into limp mode if it sees the fan control disconnected (perhaps not immediately, but still before actual overheating)? I'm inclined to believe he's conflating that with the cars just overheating because the fan was unplugged, but I could be wrong. If that's actually true, I'm wondering if a little resistor might have solved that problem?

Thanks!

I have no idea, this would be a question for racewerkz. All I can say is that I have not had any issues with the fan or engine overheating. I just flip a switch to turn it on when going on track, then turn it off a couple minutes after coming into the pits

i'd be interested to see any data showing fan activation at speed... seems like a waste. would a fan actually pull air through faster than traveling at track speeds? having the oem shroud off of the rear with the front of the radiator properly sealed might be an advantage.

Old thread but ive driven his car on the streets and it was the most insane experience ive had in a car on the road. Do not listen to him, its 100% not street friendly

The lightness is insane and once you hit 100+ the aero just hunkers you down. Its loud as shit and extremely exhilarating. Its very much so a race car in every way
