I am guessing 50%+ that it's some rich young "drunk" guy behind the wheel. Yeah you heard me right. Way too many drunk driving in Taiwan and the law can easily be paid off... Sad stuff.

My sympathy if the driver wasn't drunk, or thank god that dude didn't kill some pedestrian and ruin someone's family...

Is it possible that the M3 driver has set the Tracktion Control to MDM or Off?
When you drive decently, the car should not break out that way.

Pretty much... @ least in Asia, many people put a video blackbox on the dash to record everytime the engine starts.

Yup I just got mine a few days ago. The cam only costed 30 USD and it is worth it because the local people drive like crazy over here!
Someone posted earlier that overtaking in the right lane is dangerous. In China you often have no other choice as the speed limit is often lower in the right lanes forcing all the passenger cars to the left. They actually give you a speeding ticket if you drive 120 in a 100kmh lane just because your habit is to keep to the right like in the west... Therefore you often have to overtake using the right lane, and some people even use the emergency lane for overtaking. See below video: (Password is "123")

http://player.youku.com/player.php/s...ODUyNDY4/v.swf

btw its not a real M3 sedan, just a 318i/320i/325i owner with no taste...

I love how everyone's an expert on this blog making the reason this happened so complex. Plain and simple: you don't mash the gas when changing lanes in the rain or snow; especially in a high performance front engine rear drive car...and it scares me that some commenters on here think "oh DSC must have been off because he would've been fine." Maybe it was off and maybe it wasn't, but DSC does NOT defy the laws of physics or hydroplaning! Sheesh! I don't know if I want some of you on here driving performance cars if you drive around thinking you can do whatever you want and DSC will save you

+1. You can hear the M3's engine revving before it comes into view - clearly too much throttle and speed for conditions....

Still hope occupants are ok though... I'll bet that driver never does that again!

Aside from that, all you can do is just pray that you gain traction before you smash into something.
There is always the option of slowing down all together... there should be no reason to be speeding in the rain like that without consequence.

I know that highway... Don't think he hydroplaned. Probably just bad move, too fast and wrong timing.

I'll give a 10.0 score on that flip... M3's can stick it. Landed on it's tire after a full flip. In all seriousness I hope they are okay.

But next time leave the fast and furious to Vin Diesel.
