$2,500 below M.S.R.P. good?

My friend's dealer offered me a new-order M3 Coupe DCT with delivery in August-September, for $2,500 below M.S.R.P. I asked about MACO, inventory, training and all of the other B.S. fees that can be used to pad M.S.R.P., and she told me "build it on the BMWUSA web site, and knock off $2,500." Basically that means that the only fee is the $775 (if I remember) destination charge. Obviously gas-guzzler goes on top of that, but if that's the only add on besides taxes and tags, that's a pretty good deal, right? I want to make sure that I didn't miss anything. Thanks.

+ Dealer Doc Fee (usually preprinted on the sales contract so the CA can say they can't do anything about it)

Watch our for dealer doc fees. I have read some people being screwed with that. I only paid 55 bucks. Which I think was too much but whatever, its 55 bucks.

I'm assuming that $2,500 off of M.S.R.P. + $55 is still pretty good, right? Even if docs were $100, I think it looks too good to pass up. Let me know if I'm wrong. Thanks guys.

I have never heard dealer fees being $2500. Even it is something outrageous like $1000, it is still $1500 off MSRP, which is a great deal, although you have to remember by end of year, '09 will be available.

Thanks. Beautiful car, by the way. I had a '99 E36 M3 and loved it. (I just hope you don't drive it in the snow, or have snow tires. Ask me how I know. )

Wow 2500 off is awesome on a DCT coupe! I have to talk to my CA about this price. BTW, do you think its ethical to renegotiate the price when the car arrives even though I already agreed to pay MSRP?

I worked at a dealer in high school, and I can tell you that few salespeople go through their ethics manuals before doing a deal with you. It can't hurt to try and negotiate, but I wouldn't expect much from them. Remember that they can probably sell your car to the next guy on the list, at M.S.R.P., with little effort. I'm willing to wait for a car, and it seems like some dealers have higher allocations than they currently have customers for. If I wanted a car they had, I'm sure I'd be paying M.S.R.P. to avoid a list. Because I'm willing to wait until after the summer, I'm sure that there's a shift in the demand curve downward.

Yea I'll probably try to negotiate seeing that I'll be picking up my car at the end of August.

Just depends on your market. There are some non-metro area dealers here that will discount. I am going to guess rather heavy discounts for next year once demand tempers.

You can buy from any U.S. Dealer willing to discount while it is still that dealer's Allocation, then just take delivery at PCD
