Correct on the adjustments. I need to get a little video of how the rebound High / Low adjustment happens on the rears. Its pretty slick. The only downside is you have to get under the car to do it in the rears while the fronts happen from the very top.

I love the gold too! Gold is best!

@ ///Mobbin - I think I may be one of the few BMWs to go with the 4-ways from MCS. I know Bimmerworld had to add it to their catalog to even sell it to me...

Yes, the 4 way is brand brand new.

What are you doing for brakes?

I'm still weighing my options. Kinda leaning towards the Essex kits but also looking at the Stoptech Trophy kits too. I've ruled out Brembo just because the track based kits are so pricey and offer no real advantage over cheaper options.

It looks like the PFC kits from Bimmerworld are no longer for the E9x? The options seem to be dwindling....

Have any suggestions?

I do

I have the PFC and AP RadiCal kits. What I received today from Bimmerworld is very new and to make a long story short: they went full retard. Insane stuff.

Ummmm spill the beans if it involves more weight savings and braking power please!

Yeah, spill the beans!

FWIW, there only appears to be 20-ish regulars in here so you're not really sharing with the world

I love my AP/Essex setup and it shaves nearly 30lbs off the car so there is that too. Only thing I don't completely love is the Ferodo DS2500 pads on them. They work but I'm not blown away and they dust real bad.

I don't want to thread jack. I am taking pics while installing and will post a writeup at some point.

Basically, there's a new entry in the truly track oriented brake setups. We had PFC, then we had AP RadiCal, now we have a new entry from Alcon that Bimmerworld has been developing for a while.

Up to now I'm clear the best is PFC because I have AP RadiCal as well and am disillusioned with them.

Alcon answers the question of what happens when cars become so heavy and powerful that the top of the line setup for M3s, PFC Z54/Z45, no longer works.
I don't know what that point is or when we will have reached it:
-The stroker with the full PFC Z54/45 works perfectly at 500whp.
-The F80 CS front PFC also works perfectly although the rear AP is a pain in the ass.
...but what happens when we keep upping the power and weight? This kit answers that question. Do not expect weight reduction vs PFC/AP.

It is really hard to imagine something being better than what is in my mind perfection, but during the offseason I was going to remove the APs and build adapters to move the Z45 from the E9X to the F8X. Right when I was mentally preparing for a few months of rapid prototyping and Solidworks fun it turns out this kit is ready so here we go!

It's going on the F80 CS although it's available for the E9X platform as well, so for the time being we'll run the full PFC kit on the E90 stroker and the Alcons on the F80 CS. The APs will be sold rather than chucked in the garbage as my brother suggested at 11pm last night once they were off the car and the front Z54 will go to the street E92 M3.

And Steve, you need PFC pads! What are you waiting for? Don't be a glutton for punishment

What was the issue with the AP kit?

-Pads that are thin but wear with massive taper. Two sets already. Others don't have the issue but I don't think their use case is as savage as mine is.
-Loud on the street. Being a performance kit I expect some noise, but it was more than the PFCs. The antirattle clips are an absolute necessity but were purchased with the kit and it's still loud

I had the RadiCal so my experience may not translate to all kits

I've noticed the pad taper on my AP kit (CP8350) as well, seems to be common on all kinds of AP kits. Not sure why it's an AP thing, but it's pretty annoying.

Can the pads be flipped to alternate the wear?

When the pad isn't fat to begin with and you add taper wear it's a real pain in the ass. You don't even get the value out of the little pad you started with

I keep all my used pads and can make a stack as high as a table with my PFC bbk pads... all are perfectly straight. I should build a tower of babel with them and take a pic

I don't know if that would be possible. I never tried. I like leaving the pads in until they're worn

Gotcha - I swap back and forth between track pads (RS29) and ST pads on the street. Originally i was marking their location but have since swapped them around each time they come on /off. Hoping that distributes wear.

When you say RadiCal, is it the direct from AP RadiCal kit or the AP Essex RadiCal 9660/9668 kits?

I reached out to BW about the new Alcons. Looks like they're about 6-8 weeks out for availability on the e9x platform.

25mm front, 20mm rear. Front 380mm rotor that is 36mm thick. Sidewall thickness of the rotor is like nothing I've seen, probably lasts 30 track days

Pad volume is very similar to the PFC Z54 kit, so it's pretty much the biggest pad you've seen.
