Angry Exhaust bolt snapped, can't put muffler back on?

I just bought a new catback exhaust and took my car to a local exhaust shop to have the stock exhaust removed and the new exhaust put in.

Later, the shop claimed that an old bolt snapped when trying to remove the stock exhaust and a new exhaust (whether stock or not) can't be put back, but they did remove the stock exhaust...

They also claimed that 1 of the 2 bolts that hold the rear exhaust hanger was already missing, and it was only being held up by 1 originally. This could be possible because the previous owner did install test pipes + aftermarket tips.

So right now I have NO CATBACK exhaust on the car, and it's insanely loud. I really want to get this fixed but I'm not sure where to start. I can't find the part number for these bolts.

Part number for the hanger: 18207839479

Anyone have any idea what to do here?

Pics attached.

Those aren't bolts, they're studs. I'd say you're mildly screwed and it's going to take a little bit of patience and thought to right this. You need to see if the one that was missing is broken off as well. I'm not sure if they thread in or are fixed.

you can put an exhaust back on the car before this is addressed. these are a relatively small and the least critical part of the exhaust support system.

depending on whats on the other side of where the studs come through, you could just drill them out and drop a bolt in from the other side. i think these rear nuts are the 10mm size... i can't 100% remember.

I tried to install the aftermarket exhaust without using these 2 studs, but it's just not feasible since the exhaust is in 2 separate pieces (as opposed to the stock exhaust which is all connected). It hangs completely and has too much play. I might try to reinstall the stock one though.

For the missing stud, it's just a very shallow hole with no threads at all. I think the studs are somehow fixed since the shop said it would not come out.

aaah, i see the new problem now. i'd try to get your fingers above it and see if you have room to drop a bolt in. if you do have the room, drill them out and drop a bolt. you might have to take the bumper off to have a decent amount of room to do it.

I was thinking that, but it seems that you can't access the hole from above. Maybe a new stud has to be welded here? I'm also trying to find the part number for the part that these holes are in. It's slightly behind the rear rebar (51127900766).

Here's a better pic of the hole:

That's not even salt. OP's car has been rear-ended before from the looks of it.
My M3 is winter driven and doesn't even remotely have that kind of rust on the chassis like that, and mines even a 09!
And I don't think that rust is on the rebar cause the rebar on the E92 m3 is carbon fiber.

You're right, there was a rear-end damage claim from the previous owner.

The rebar is just in front of this part with the 2 holes (no rust on rebar of course).

From what I've read, those 2 studs are attached to the body, so I have no idea how one was missing. I think the only solution at this point is to weld new ones on there.

the two bolts are pressed and welded on to the chassis. the only way you can fix it, is to drill them out and replace it with a suitable nut and bolt.

Buy a longer threaded bolt and have them weld it on to the chassis, patch the surrounding area with rust paint (POR15) if you want to be specific... Same method when fixing the e46 m3 subframe.
