The styling on those was polarizing but it is a VERY capable car.

iDrive works fine, I just wouldn't use the navigation, Waze is much better. Problems: Rod Bearing and Throttle Actuator issues are made to seem more prevalent than they really are. the E9x M3 is solid, the Engine is a Jewel, and is no less reliable than other high performance German cars. Replacement parts are pricey though, however the forum is a good place to get slightly used parts for a cheap price, the same goes for aftermarket upgrades. A lot of people on this forum probably thought your post was stupid because even though this car is a generation old, many enthusiasts view E9X>F8X, simply because of the V8, Hydraulic Power Steering, and the amazing sound. If you are worried about it being "dated" worry not, most normal people think my car is brand new because I keep it clean. They are shocked when I tell them its a 2011.

Value for the $? How much maintenance to expect? How painful is it to go with lesser technology vs newer cars? Emissions that arent exactly green to the planet? Naturally aspirated vs turbo'ed? This could go in so many directions and its very individual based on the car and your particular needs and what you value in a car. For me its a matter of going back to an S65 after driving a newer generation 235. Not sure if I'll do it or not, or if I do if its my EDD? Its very different driving a NA V8 vs the newer turbo'ed cars. You really need to wind the S65 out as its torque is on the "lower end" till it reaches higher revs. I find that glorious, but it aint for everybody. You'll probably get a richer thread going if you could be more descriptive...

If you want the V8 get the E92. You can definitely find lower mileage examples out there. With an X-pipe/muffler/tune you will love the sound and the added power. I personally do not think an M3 or M4 should be a weekend only car. I think I'd daily the M3/M4 and weekend/track the Z4M (which looks like youre already doing.) Anyway good luck!
Your Z4M looks awesome btw, seriously don't know what some of these guys are talking about. Cant imagine the blast that car would be on a track. I still miss the characteristics of my S54 |

Old cars are for plebs. Once my car hits 2 years old, I dump that old bitch and pick up her younger sister.
