Is it to old to buy a E92 M3?
So as much as I love the styling and all on a M4 the sound and engine just doesn't cut it. I would preferably want a V8, so a M3 E92 would be nice.
Thing is they ended production in 2013. So it like, a dumb idea to buy a car this old used or not? |

I have a barebone 2011 e90. Awesome car and no extra electronic gizmos to break.
Its a true drivers car. People don't buy M3s with the reliability as a primary concern........ catch my drift.... literally.

I don't plan to DD it so it's a night out and weekend car. Maybe bring it to work in the summer but that's it. Parking is pretty fing expensive. So it can stay in a garage as long as it needs to to be fixed. I just don't want something to break that's really fing expensive, like a engine loss or something.

Why would it be dumb? Is that your way of asking if these are reliable cars? If so, yes, the M3 is probably one of the more reliable cars BMW has built in the last 10 years.

I mean, it kinda of goes to reliability but that's not want I meant, it's more of major problems. Like if there common problems that would make for a very pricy repair, IDK like engine replacement required. I can deal with a broken waterpump where I gotta change it etc it won't bemy DD.

Any high-performance car is going to be an all-or-nothing kind of thing. I've yet to find a car with this kind of performance and "dynamics" that is absolutely devoid of issues. Best you can do is make sure the car was maintained well and have some money set aside for repairs and maintenance. For reference, I cross-shopped the M3 competitors a few years back. They all had their issues, though it's always in very very small numbers. IS F: eats expensive brake rotors and pads like you wouldn't believe (two CPO ones I looked at had gotten new brake rotors every 10-12k) RS4: needs constant intake manifold cleaning from first-gen direct injection design C63: head bolt failures 911: IMS/intermediate shaft C7 Vette: overheating at the track

You can still get parts for the e30 M3 and 2002tii, so parts availabiity should never be an issue. Last edited by DSilk; 06-17-2016 at 01:32 PM.. |

Why would I want to do facebook or twitter in my car system when I always have a phone in my pocket and I can't use twitter or facebook of my car's when driving. Nerver understood the hype about that and wifi or 3g in cars.

Is that car like having a Porsche with panties??
Just kidding. I don't think the e92 m3 is too old. I'm assuming you are referencing body style because 2008 vs 2013 there is obviously the mileage/wear and tear items. I'd rather drive a e46 m3 than your car man. No offense but your car doesn't do it for me. |
