Being in M Mode all the time?

This may be a stupid question but I will ask anyway. Is it okay to have the car in M mode all the time, even in regular daily driving? I know I don't need the extra power when in traffic but I just like the feel of the car more when it is in M mode. Are there any negatives about keeping the car in M mode every time?

Thank You.

No issue with doing that. M Mode simply turns on the options set up under the M menu option: EDC, MDM, steering, throttle sensitivity. If you're asking is it "ok" to be in sport plus (super sensitive throttle) there's no issue. It's not like it changes the power of the motor or anything, it simply makes the throttle more sensitive.

Agreed.

I actually didn't opt for the Tech pkg, so therefore I don't have the M mode option. However, I do leave the Power button ON all the time. I don't like the passive feel when it's turned off.

I guess I've gotten too spolied, now that I think of it.

To answer your question, I don't think it'll harm your car if you leave it on M mode all the time. Heck, the M3 was born for it.

Aside from the MDM it's not a huge loss w/o the tech package. Yeah, there's the steering setting too, but I the steering set-up on cars w/o the tech package is just as good IMO. I find the "Sport Plus" a bit to touchy and don't use it, and power mode is a pretty good setting. You're right about "Normal" mode: it'sjust like giving the car a sleeping pill.

I put Mmode on the track for the steering feel but also turn off sport plus its way too sensitive coming out of turns and you want to roll on the throttle slowly.
But I turn the Dynamic mode off too so really MMode is just a fun toy for the street

Anyone think it's harmful to drive with the EDC in sport mode all the time?

Just avoid potholes, it might hurt your back.

Power button is for gas pedal sensitivity, i always have it on.
I love the Sport steering with M, it is very responsive.

The power button keeps resetting every time I switch off the engine and remove the key from the ignition fob.

Is there any setting to keep the power button ON all the time?

If you dont have idrive, i dont know how to do it. Maybe tape it down

It's ok to leave M mode on. It's even ok to leave the power button on and EDC set to sport. Of course after a a few months of doing this you'll grow fangs and a unibrow.

Cheers.

The advice doesn't apply when you already have fangs.

Cheers.
