Please help with tire selection for 18" 219 RIMS

I could use some help. I'm running M spoke 18" 219 gunmetal rims:

18x8.5 ET29
18x9.5 ET23
(info pulled from ECS) hope it's right.
1" stagger.
OEM tires are:
245/40/18
265/40/18

edit: currently no spacers

Stock is backordered in this size in PSS and P4S.
I've tried searching around and most of you all have the ZCP 19"s so it was hard to translate what fits your rims to what I could run as I have no idea.

TR has a 255/40 in stock for the front and a 285/40 in the rear. That's a bit of a jump and more than a 1" stagger. Would it even fit? I'm guessing not, but.... any advice or input on this setup?

It looks like I could drop to a 35 profile in a 255/35 and 275/35...but I am unsure it that would work with these rims. yes? no? Thanks!

Basically any and all suggestions are welcome... I don't know tires so blast away ;-)

Cheers,
X

For stock 18" wheels:

For front, I've never ran anything other than 245/40. I've considered a 255/40 and that should fit ok.

For the rear, I've run 275/35 and 275/40 - both of which fit fine. This is usually due to lack of tires for the stock 265/40 size in some tire models.

A rear 285/40 will most likely not fit... that size is way larger in diameter than stock - it will make the m3 look like a funny car with the rear higher than the front. You're talking about almost a 1 inch increase in diameter compared to stock size.

255/40 and 275/40 should be a safe if you want wider and thicker tires. That is the stock 18" tire sizes for the F80 M3.

I appreciate your reply. That’s what I was looking for. The stock sizes are not available for at least a month or more in the tire I want so I was trying to find out what other sizes I could safely run that might be available for these rims. Again I appreciate your time. Thanks and cheers!

I'm running 245/40/18 and 275/40/18 on my 219m wheels. Along with Swift lowering springs and 12.5mm Front & 10mm Rear ECS tuning wheel spacers.

Would have liked to have gone with 255/40/18 up front to reduce the front/rear stagger to OE 20mm difference but TR didn't have that size in the tires I wound up ordering...Yokohama Advan. Oh well.
