BMW performance grills

I did some searching, but didn't find the answer on color matching.

I have a 2011 E90 M3 that is jet black. I had the dealership install the BMW black performance grills last September. I have noticed when my car was clean for a few days over the last few months that the grills look to be a different color than the shadowline trim and jet black paint.

Is this normal?

The part number of the black grills is 51-71-2-155-450 and 51-71-2-155-451. To me they look like unpainted plastic that need to be painted. Does anyone know where to get BMW jet black spray paint? What brand and color code of matte black spray paint if I wanted to go that way?

That is normal, they aren't supposed to be either JB or a match for the shadow line trim. Check with one of the forum vendors for a set painted in JB. PM me, I would buy your edition grilles (or could also do a trade plus $ if you want matte black.)

They're black chrome so they will look different than the shadowline trim or black paint.

yeah if you bought grill instead of grille, that may be why it doesn't color match

I wanted to match the window trim and Nate at IND suggested that I purchase his painted kidneys and side grilles. They are a perfect match and I would highly recommend his products. The quality is excellent and the prices are very reasonable.

Gloss black vs. Edition not even close. Gloss black performance grills are close to shadow line as well as painted gloss black from Ind. where I got my side gills from and they look great.
