Apparently, it will be branded as a BMW Performance piece, will either be titanium or Inconel if BMW can keep costs down, and should be available by September.

Of course, none of this may come to pass. Just look at what happened with the E92 LCI Blacklines -- BMW went so far as to include them in the 2010 BMW Performance catalog and on their parts website before canceling their development. Who knows if this thing will ever see the light of day...
It would almost certainly be cat-back for it to come here. Even that has issues in some states I think.

Anyway can't see them certifying an exhaust.

Exclamation

I receive a magazine every month called "HIGH-PERFORMANCE Composites" in my mailbox. This magazine has to do with the Carbon Fibre Composites Industry as a whole, not just for automobiles but aircraft, watercraft, windmills, and reflector dishes to name a few things. I was beside myself and very excited to find a Full Page Ad in Color by "BMW Group" in the last issue, May 2010, which stated the following:

"Everyone's talking about the future.
But you'll be the one designing it.

Picture of the latest futuristic BMW here...(the Blue and White BMW M1 that took the cover of many car magazines a few months ago.)

At the BMW Group, we're redefining lightweight automotive construction. We're also
paving the way for the large-scale production of carbon fibre-reinforced polymer.

To fulfil our aims, we are currently looking for engineering graduates (or equivalent)
with relevant professional experience in carbon fibre-reinforced polymers (CFRP).
We are also looking for cost engineers who offer all of the above combined with
business expertise.

Does this sound like you? Then we look forward to receiving your application as a

CFRP development engineer
Job reference: 53758

CFRP cost engineer
Job reference: 53885

As this is a growing field, we will continue to advirtise for new employees in future.

To find out more about these and other positions, and to apply online, visit
www.bmwgroup.jobs

Please state reference number 1305 in your application."

I will look around for the magazine. If i find it, i will be sure to scan the ad and post it. To me, this is very exciting news, because not only does this mean better quality carbon fibre parts and accessories (none of that crap from China or Taiwan), but better access and better pricing then the current but few BMW Performance Carbon Fibre Composite Parts...

Yes, Eric indicated it would be legal in all 50 states.

Not really a fan of the trunk spoiler or the front splitters, but I love the mirror covers. If the top portion of the front splitters were painted, they may look better. I really want to see the trunk spoiler mounted on a car in person because from all of the pictures that I have seen, it looks really out of place...

i agree...i think it needs to be seen in person. I love it from the back...but from the side view it looks too tall!

awesome, the splitters are only $320/ea from getbmwparts.com

Will do eventually. I didn't like them at first but after seeing them on MR they look great. Def not for all colors, like space grey.

Thanks

looks good!

Yes, but the "official" announcement (press release) just came out. That is what was posted.

Disgusting...
1. Those front add-ons are ugly and that front needs a full lip
2. Trunk lip doesnt look like it belongs.
3. CF mirrors arent attractive

I'm sure they over charge the hell out of this package.

I would trade it all in and get a normal full lip and CSL style trunk.

Does the trunk spoiler fit the sedan? Or are we SOL?

These parts are nice, but in my opinion there are aftermarket parts out there that I like better on the M3.

How much did your dealership charge for the installation?
