However, I think a winter beater and spring/summer m3 is a nice combo! |

You could have had another 2-3 true Ms. Might as well abuse it on track so the E9X's last forever...can't think of another silver lining here. |

I could have gone to another E9X, but remember I already have two. The only third E9X generation car I want is an E93 and I can't track that The CS will die so that my E92 can live

Lol!
I guess nowadays a question whether to keep an E9x M3 is kind of trivial. The real question seems to be how many more to get |

If you sell it you will lust for it until you buy another one and you already have an absolute beauty. Myself and too many to count here have done that. However, I might be going X3M although I am not interested in the huge payment. It might hit all the marks of engaging, exciting, and fast while still having winter/outdoors utility. I plan to test drive one when they become available.

Op that's a special car - keep it and drive it on clean roads and sunny days. That said if u must get to 1 car better to sell than to drive in salt and rust her out - not many LB E90M cars with no Nav and 6MT. Don't kill the unicorn unnecessarily.

DennisCAN,
I know where you are coming from... I’m from Ontario and have both a e90 m3 and x3 as well (albeit the previous gen 3.5i msport) I barely drive the m3 (has 69k kms) and have contemplated selling it for years now as I hate seeing it sit there for 1/2 the year. Yeah, I agree...it doesn’t handle Canadian winters all that great even with dedicated winter tires! However, everytime I get back into it I realize why I want to keep it. This car is special...the s65, the steering, the four doors and useable trunk. It is almost the perfect all-around car. If you can swing it financially I say keep it. |

I certainly wouldn't be able to view the G01 as a replacement to the M3. Companion, sure. Didn't you know you got an F80, congrats. Did you look at the M2C at all? And what happened to the engine on the E90?

Thank you all for your comments!
I am glad to hear that there are so many others who are ready to keep this fantastic car even if not driven all year-round. It seems that everybody is agreeing that selling this car, unless you really have to, would be a mistake and would lead to buying another one very quickly. Thanks for helping me keep this baby. D. |

BMW is lost with the recent design. X5 looks like a dentist accidentally drilled into nostrils. The headlights were 100 times more aggressive and better looking in the previous generation X5. Don't even get me started with the 7 series/X7..
Check for yourself which one looks newer.. Now G20 3 series doesn't look too bad at first sight but if you look closely, the front looks like a dislocated jaw with a ping pong ball in the middle.

I am also in Canada, I always store my summer car in the winter and drive a beater. Sure the M3 can handle the winter fine but it hurts me to see it covered in salt/sand.
I have a X5 right now for winter/daily but I might be replacing it with a R53 mini cooper s so i'll still have something fun.

We all have different desires out of our M3's, so just do what you want in the end. I like having multiple cars for multiple driving situations. I don't mind having cars sit until I need them, but they're paid off so it makes that easier.
For me, I really do not enjoy driving my M3 in traffic or to run errands around the city. Each time I drive it I want to open it up and enjoy the type of driving that it's meant for. I want each time to be special for me, and that is not the daily driver slog. I probably put 1-2k miles a year on it at this point, but those are all fun miles. My new daily driver is an inverse of the M3, a big luxury LS460 sedan. I like how I can completely ignore the car and cruise in comfort. I use it only for it's purpose, and expect nothing more out of it.

OP: Beautiful car!
I’m in the camp of using her year round, especially since you want to be a one car guy. I find E90s highly capable (and fun!) in the snow...ground clearance can be a concern as you highlight (splitters become mini-plows), but roads are generally cleared routinely here. Winter use doesn’t mean neglect...ppf, baths, etc all play a role in keeping her looking amazing.
