My car has 49 K miles, and I use about 1/2 L in 3 K miles. Castrol TWS 10W60.

Right now my 2008 is at 90k miles. About 1/4 liter of oil every 10k miles. I never need to top off and rarely even look at oil level between oil changes.

Got my rod bearings done and only had to top off after 5k miles. Before I was topping off every 1-2k idk what they did but they fixed whatever was consuming all my oil. Anyone have a similar experience ?

The only time I saw oil consumption was a trip from Northern Cali to Southern Cali - I didn't measure the consumption but it was relatively minimal.
It seems that longer highway driving increases oil consumption, but not 100%.

S65 seems to have a preference for certain oils. I've owned my car for 8 years and only run Castrol 10W60. Minimal oil consumption - I top up 0.5-0.75L every 10k kms.

My last oil change I went to Ravenol 10W60 as my mech sells it and had gotten reports that it has low oil consumption. My car ended up needing a 1L top up at 5k kms.

Needless to say I'll be going back to Castrol at my next oil change.

More or less exclusively use Liqui Moly 10w-60 with no oil needed after very spirited driving. The last time the car asked for oil was after a 1000 mile, nearly constant speed drive on the highway before the rod bearings were replaced.

Man I miss the physical dipstick.

6 months after doing an oil change (and the level being almost to the top, on the display), I'm not at the bottom arrow and the computer is telling me to add oil (1L).

So I add half a liter, partly because I feel like 1 entire liter is too much, but also to see where the level will go up to (for educational purposes).

Well, after 3 drives now, the level hasn't budged. How can that be? I'll add ther other 500ml tonight and see what happens, but this is disturbing.

Maybe it's the type of person that I am, but I rellay don't like not knowing how much oil is in the engine.

Now I have to go research how much we think there is in the car when the level is showing full versus low. Is it 9L full and 8l low? or 9.5/8.5L?

I add a little bit at a time until its reading full. Takes several cycles, days before its a true reading.
