Yokohama Advan Apex V601 - new tire

https://www.yokohamatire.com/tires/advan-apex

"Built upon the legacy of the A008, AVS Intermediate and the AVS Sport. 100 years of experience rolled into one tire designed to conquer the U.S. roads—introducing the ADVAN Apex™. An all-new Y-rated ultra-high performance tire worthy of its name, and your respect."

This is available in E92 sizes and appears to be brand new. I don't even see it listed on the Tire Rack site or others. Any other info? It looks to be in the same class as the top-dog PSS/PS4S.

What’s an a008? Is that supposed to be ad08?

Looks interesting especially if it’s an ad08 successor

That tread pattern is definitely not an AD08 successor. Probably same level as PS4S.

It's a lower performance category than the AD08R. The successor to that one is the AD08RS but it isn't sold in NA.

The 285/30-19 size is interesting.

I'm interested. I was going to go to the PS4S on my next set. As long as they're available in a wider size with square shoulders instead of the stretched look out of the stock Contis, I'd give these a chance.

However, I just checked Tire Crack, and in a stock size, the tread width on the Yoko is .6 narrower on the rears, and .4 narrower on the fronts than the same fitment in Michelin PS4S. Thats kind of the opposite direction from where I wanted to go with my next set of tires.

Random... How did Titan7 become their "model" wheel for their new tire. Would have thought it'd be an Advan wheel like Advan GT or Advan RG.

Good for them (Titan7), guess they are making themselves known in the industry.

I don't thing they've even come ashore yet. Parm posted this in August of last year, and the TireRack page for that tire still hasn't been updated. No reviews, no in-house testing even. They're the Bilstein EDC dampeners of the tire world.

Then Tire Rack hasn't bothered testing them. I have to wonder why.

They appear to be about 10% heavier than a Michelin PSS or PS4 or Conti EV Sport. Or 2-3 lbs each tire for typical sizes used on stock or bigger than stock wheels on these cars.

Still a new tire so hard to say. I'm sure these will be fine for street driving where you're nowhere near 10/10.

Buy a set and let us know. :-)

I went with PS4Ss instead unfortunately.

If I needed tires, I'd trust Yoko to have a good product, particularly at this price and if it was for the street.
