Front Leather bra?

What do you guys think of this?
I saw it on another forum.

Comes out to 150 shipped

I ended up ordering it, but they emailed me and said it's back-ordered and would take 25 working days... then 3 day express shipment after that.

I have an option to cancel it due to the unexpected delay.

Should i cancel or get it?

I've been using Road Wrap and painters tape.
Tape is a PITA and takes too much time. Road wrap takes me about 20 mins if I half-ass it, but up to an hour if I do it right and it's cool. though I'll run out of my sheet after 3 more track days ($45 for a new sheet).

I will be tracking at least 3 days, if not 5 or 6 days this summer alone.

Then probably every other month after summer ends until next summer when it'll be the same.

I don't like the clear bras people get for the front cause you can always see the line and the line really bugs me. I've never seen it done well unless you do the entire hood etc.

Thanks

I think its fine if you're planning on using it for functionality. Such as on track days. But ya its ugly ha.

Would'nt get it. This leather bra traps dirt underneath and after some time it acts like an abrasive. You'll notice this as soon as you remove it. Get a clear bra installed instead.

well i don't care if it's ugly as it'll only be on for the drive to the track, on the track, drive back, then it's off the car.

problem with a clear bra is it's always there, and as i stated, it looks like crap unless you get the whole car done (or at least the entire hood, i hate the line that you see from the clear bar....)

The felt liner underneath traps dirt and is hard to clean. Once it gets in there, no matter how short of a time you use it for, you might as well put some fine grit sandpaper on your hood.

I just don't get the obsession with these really really ugly bra thingies that yanks have. WTF! You buy a hot looking car, you put a really really ugly thing on the front to preserve the looks of the car, which no-one can see because of the ugly thing.

Makes. No. Sense.

If it gets a few stone chips during its life - get a touchup done - or just buy a new front end once every 5 years. Much better that suffering the embarrassing bra on your car.

Having had several vinyl (they are not leather) bras in the past, they are a nightmare. If they get wet (like if it rains while you are elsewhere) and then dry on the car on a hot day they WILL cloud the paint. And they do get dirt underneath which will scratch the paint. Plus the aft-most strap that keeps tension across the hood will rub repeatedly on your paint and scuff it. Go clear bra.

Those are VINYL, not leather. But I see your point. I also hate all other alternatives. I used to have one of those, and they're a good option. The thing is you must only use them for traveling, and removing them right away. And if it rains, you need to remove it as soon as you get to your destination, even if you have to put it back the next morning. A PITA, but simpler than those spray-on solutions. I've never seen those for sale here, but guess haven't looked hard enough . My front is a mess already (to me, with a few big <touched-up> chips); should have thought about that before. Take care.

Why not just get a clear bra and have [semi] permanent protection?
