Hello everyone,

So I'm in contact with BayOptiks, one of the most experienced BavGruppe Design headlight builders out there... They are willing to provide a tremendous holiday discount for us during this holiday season via a group buy!

The base headlights are:

Halo rings (Round, Full DTM or 3/4 DTM)
ZKW-R projectors (much brighter than stock)
Carbon fiber eyebrows (no cost)

Round circle halos $750

Or

DTM or 3/4 DTM $900

+$200 for LED eyebrows (reg price is +$300)

All additional options are 20% off:

Quad projectors
LCI Beauty Corners
RGB color changing halos
Carbon Fiber Housing
Demon Eyes
Etched Lenses
Switchback Rings
Anything else they offer

BayOptiks will be expecting this order, and can plan on 2-3 day turn-arounds, this way you can get YOUR original headlights updated, instead of installing someone else's.

We need 20 people to commit to the order... So, if you've been on the fence about ordering these, now is the time to get $400-$600 discount depending on what options you want.

(Btw I do not work for BayOptiks, nor BavGruppe Design). I'm buying headlights too.

What is the design/option called in the last pic? The gray M3 with the Icon LED style angel eyes? Also what's the price with this GB?

The last pic is the 3/4 DTM halos, you also get the ZKW-R projectors (much brighter than stock) and the CF/LED eyebrows.

Cost is $1100 (normally $1500)

3/4 DTM w/ standard CF eyelids. Should be cheaper than ones w LED CF eyelid.

Ya that photo only shows the 3/4 DTM style of halos...

Here is what they look like with LED eyebrows.

If someone doesn't want the eyebrows, lmk to see if that will be cheaper.

Yes, we send in our headlights.

Turn around time should be a couple days before getting them back.

Ok, I like exactly how the gray one is optioned w/o the eyebrows. Too many lights going on within the headlight is not my taste. Please let met know what that price would be and thanks for the info!

Thought it was longer than a couple days...

I’d feel more comfortable paying a deposit for a separate set of headlights and getting that refunded when I send in my old headlights.

When I spoke to them, they said a couple days, but either way... Not having headlights for any amount of time would not be ideal if it's your daily driver (like mine is).

I'm waiting to hear back about charging core and refunding for original headlights after we send them back.

I just don't know if they will be able to accommodate everyone that way. I'm on it though.

if they were smart about timing, they would only have to source one or two sets of "spare" lights and they could cycle through all the orders. Not everyone would get their lights at the same time, but they would stop everyone having to be off the road for a week or more.

Good point! I'm sure this will be possible, just waiting on response to make it official.

I don't think any of us want to be stuck without headlights for any amount of time.

I'm thinking either option will be available... I'll post here with an update.

I think they also are willing to do all the installation and labor at their shop, so those of us that live nearby can always just drop the cars off for a couple of days and they will take care of everything.

The eyebrows are a little cheesy for the classy lines of the E9X, but these are mean...

Does it disable the adaptive feature of the headlights for those that have that option?

I have mixed feelings about modding headlights. I do think that looks really good especially the 3/4 dtm style if it disables the adaptive feature I feel likes it's a bit of a downgrade. I know the stockers look dated but I kind of dig that about them, it's period correct, and I love starting my car in the garage and watching the headlights auto level on the wall with the cold start echoing and rumbling away, it does it for me.

When they do these retrofits, I know it's new lenses but are all the bulbs replaced as well as the inside reflectors? Am I pretty much getting new headlights?

It does not disable adaptive headlights feature.

You are getting OEM headlights (likely even your original headlights), which are upgraded to a better projector and brighter halos.

I'm not into aftermarket replacements either, and prefer OEM everything, hence why I like this upgrade.

I just couldn't bring myself to dropping $2,000 on it in the past, but I can live with $1100 for halos, projectors and LED eyebrows.
