Fair Deal on a 2008 E92 M3?

The car is Alpine White with a black interior and has the following options:
Manual Transmission
Premium Package
Technology Package
Cold Weather Package

Car has 5400 miles on the odo and the seller is asking for $46,500.

Here's the ad:
http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/4458523448.html

Think this is a fair deal? I have contacted him asking for more recent pictures as well as the service history of the car. I don't think it'd be a good idea to jump on this if he has only done the break-in oil change since buying the car!

Ask for the VIN, it does not look like that car has the cold weather package. There are no seat heating buttons from those pictures. For the price that this seller is asking you can buy a 2011-2012 that is still under warranty.

Yep, definitely can get a 2011 or 2012 right now for the high 40's but not at that low of a mileage. I think I've seen some 2012 with 15-20k miles go above the 50k mark. If everything checks out, I would offer low 40's and take it if he agrees(I'm comparing that to the 08-09's with mileage in the 30-40 going for mid to high 30's)

I don't even know how to comment on that price/year/mileage ratio…

An M3 with miles like that is one of a kind… Id say its fair but would try to bring it down. Definitely not a low price

He still hasn't responded to my inquiry on service and maintenance, but it shocked me to see a 2008 with such low mileage. I feel bad for the car, all of its buddies get to go out and play while he has to sit inside and mope!

Would be a cool car to take under your wing

Update software and you have a lovely low mileage car. Shame its been sitting around.

Personally, I would rather spend 46k on a 2010 or 2011

Yeah? What kind of mileage would be ideal on a 2010 or 2011? Why would you get a 2010 or 2011 car? Was there some facelift that I don't know about?

For the price of what he is asking for that 08, you can get a 2011 w/ under 20k miles and warranty.

Haven't seen one like that with that kind of price. I'll have to keep an eye out for one.

2011 M3 I found.

Here is a good example and it is only 3 hours' drive from you.

So the year is way more important than the mileage...

Is that a fair price? Or just a good example of a vehicle that I should be looking for?

2009 had updates for the e90/e92. I say 2010-2011 because those will fall in your price range and have some warranty. There's a lot of value there for me (especially on the warranty side) as I probably can't afford to drive this car as much as all the CEOs on here :P
