Componnents to simplify alignments process?
Apart from rear toe arms, what else makes the alignment quick, accurate and less tedious? Since I'll need an alignment anyway, what else would you "may as well do while in there"?
Any specific brands to avoid or nice features of others that are worth the extra $? It will always be a street car and reliability of the bearings is a priority. It sees around 10 track events a year. |

Adding components or adjustment points with aftermarket arms further complicate the alignment process and [potentially make it less accurate. Since there are more places for stuff to come lose etc.
Accuracy is 100% the machine used, and the technician performing the alignment. Not the car or components. You loosen the nut, turn the eccentric bolt, tighten the nut. Simple. You cannot get more simple by adding aftermarket components. It's simply impossible.

I would recommend SPL parts for front and rear toe arms and IND sells a camber shim kit for the rear so no need to mess with eccentric bolts anymore.

I'm buying SPL suspension components soon. Spoke with them on the phone for what I need to achieve and they seem the most confident when speaking about their products.

E9x is one of the easiest BMWs to align. (Unless you count an e30 where nothing except front toe is factory adjustable. ) While it does not simplify the process, I do recommend front camber plates. making camber adjustable is worth it imo.

And once you do that, you should do camber again since it will shift. And so on and so forth until it's on point, precise and perfect.
Thanks, on the fence with lockout shims. I have never experienced slipping. I check the markings I made after every track day. Probably more common with wider and stickier rubber? |
