RS4 - inside tire wear

Hey guys, I the inside of my passenger side front tire is wearing / chunking a bit after a few days on the track. The tires are Hankook RS4's which generally wear well so I'm not sure of the problem. I'm running abt -1.8 camber, and no more than 36/37psi hot. Going out cold they were at abt 27. Maybe they were too low in psi to start??

Thoughts?

Those tires have the same issue the rs3 had were they would chunk. Think its normal for them a few of the AutoX guys with e36 have the same issue. Not sure much you can do.

I haven't had any issues with my RS4's after about 5 track days and one AutoX. I run about 32-34lbs hot but I also run about -3.5* camber in the front as well.

I don't think that wear looks too awful.

When I agree with dparm , it's worth mentioning.

I don't see an issue. Also, a cold tire doesn't chunk. An overheated one does.

these tires do this kind of chunk all the time. I went through two sets of front RS4 just like this. In my case, the chunking was due to not having enough camber while the car turning car leaning super hard on the outside

I've got 6 days on mine, no chunks at all. But I'm on an E46 M3 so weight is less (3100 lbs without driver). I'm also at -3.8 camber up front, -2.5 rear.

Chunking could be caused by overheating, which could be a symptom of a variety of issues: improper pressure, poor technique/overdriving, improper suspension setup, alignment too mild, incorrect sizing, etc.

Thanks guys, will try a bit lower psi this time. Tire wear otherwise is fine, so I don't think it's a camber issue (no understeer really either). I will likely take temp readings tmr and see what that shows.

Dumb question and this is no knock on your ability, but are you over-driving the tires?

Highly doubt it. I switched sides for this week (so ran them backwards - it was dry). Did the same thing on the inside again, even going in reverse. Not a huge deal regardless. I also ran less psi this time.
