Mate. Good to see you! I keep equivocating as I love both Bimmers and P-cars. Have owned a few Bimmers but never a P-car - so that's a tick for the latter. I'd also like the balance of a mid-engined car, so that's also a tick for the opposition.
But then, as you have seen, I'm not a small bloke. So the relative space of the M3 makes sense if I am to use it as a DD. Second, the E92 has THAT engine - which is a bloody work of art and derived from the F1 block. I bet you are loving it! A pleasant quandary indeed. Planning a trip to Germany and France in '09 and would be very cool to pick up a car from either Mũnchen (Die Welt) or Zuffenhausen to 'tootle' around in

ahh and how nice would it be to drive you're new german rocket around the autobahns and nurburgring! i'm pretty sure that i'd probably violate the break-in conditions given the chance. i wanted to do ED on my m3, but impatience got the best of me. my next bmw (or maybe even a porsche myself) will definitely be ED. anyway, cheers, good luck with the decision, although you know what i'd say about the choice..............

I think you need some of us middle-aged mid-life crises' blokes on this thread as 'ballast'
I'm in my 40s, now I look it (this market's taken its toll), think like I'm 30-something and act that way - often. Have dated women 10 years younger but now married to someone more my age. It's all ahead of you mates! Last, my first car was a Fiat 124 coupe - it was a blast (twin-cam 1600) but in no way was it in E92's league, you are all very fortunate.

haha I just have a passion for cars. I think age really shouldn't be a factor..i believe it depends on personality. One time a guy who looked like he was in 50s tried to race me in his E36 M3..on a crowded highway! He's worse than some of the drivers I know that are 16!

(a) agree re the passion - I wanted a Ferrari BB512 Boxer *badly* at 17 Now, my mate who also wanted one - a 12 cyl Ferrari - bought a mint Testarossa: so I guess if one can afford the "passion" it comes back. (b) age is no guarantee of maturity!

22 here mofos!
Although, I have a 335i not an M3 like many others in this thread haha How did I pay for this? Not gonna lie, I didn't. My dad is rich as fuck and I'm privileged as fuck to have my toys paid for by my father. hope i'm not perpetuating the negative "snobbish/spoiled" bmw stereotype by admitting this haha nah i dont care . live life to the fullest and appreciate what you get, we all only live once. I was just one of the lucky ones to win the genetic lottery being born into affluence |

haha thanks man, yeah I look at my life and realize I am absolutely blessed beyond belief.
It's a real motivator to have such a car at my age. I always tell myself "I'm going to give my kids this type of lifestyle...I better be busting my ass at school" Long hours in the library, that's for sure. Fun on the weekends though, just riding around Austin in my 3. feels great |
