They're going to be on the E92. You can see them around the top of the chrome bezel which surrounds the tacho. Have a look at the pictures of the E92 interior from Geneva.

BMW lying? You decide.
While I have faith in the M3 people at BMW I know some are frustrated and concerned about what was presented (and not) at Geneva. I am looking forward to the new M3 but the following web site does give those who are concerned more for thought. Still, keep the faith!

are u really than concerned about an article from ign???
don't worry so much..car will be great no doubt. i think calling bmw "liars" is a bit harsh...its their right and perogative to call it a concept at this point in the game. if you know their history, they do it with most of their m caf releases. and i can feel pretty confident that that all the "real" car magazines will rave aout it when it is out!

whoever wrote that article should be executed. what an idiot.
Nobody knows for sure if the production model will be identical to the concept. Even if it is, that doesn't mean bmw is trying to lie to the public to get feedback so that they can make adjustments??? And even if they were, I would personally appreciate it. We'd all get a design that we like more. And since when has introducing a concept and then modifying it for production become a new idea... |

It will have slightly less torque than the 335i and much much less torque than the 335i-chipped (proceed). The extra power (vs 335i) is coming from the extra 1500 rpm on the top end. What caught my attention was this statement: "... but we hear BMW expects acceleration to 62 mph in 4.9 seconds" WTF? Are they copying the lexus ISF marketing dept? That is EXACTLY what Lexus said in the January conference in detroit. This is pure BS considering that both the 335i AND the IS350 have both tested within a tenth of 4.9 sec. You would expect the much more powerful M3 and ISF to obliterate these numbers. Something doesn't add up ... |
