Future values and depreciation of the M3 - your opinion

Hi all,

A while ago I fetched some data on the M3 prices and made a video in which I show a depreciation analysis for the car. I analyzed both the depreciation per year and the depreciation per 1000km driven and differentiated between the different roof-types and transmission types. You can check out the results in the video below.

I was wondering what the 'M3 experts' over here think of the results. Any constructive feedback is welcome .

The auto will still be more desirable in the eu because every other car is a manual on that continent. In the US, expect the manual to be more desirable. Tbh, this car is amazing as a manual glad I bought it.

I am really happy to be driving my car into the ground and using up its value rather than trying to preserve it for the next owner.

All these gas powered cars will be worthless. With self driving cars and gasoline on the outs the best use of these vehicles is to drive them as often as possible now while we still can.

That my 2c

This.

Gas will be so expensive, if not outlawed that these cars will be worthless in 10-15 years.

These amateur YT clickbait channels need to die off. They present nothing unique and just spam their crap everywhere for clicks.

2022 BMW M3  [10.00]
If I may...

The car will be worth what someone is willing to pay, it's that simple. A Toyota Supra is now worth 120k because someone wanted a clean example real bad. Your data means absolutely nothing.

Here's data - own a lime rock, sedan, or frozen color? Your car will be worth more.

Everyone else - drive and enjoy.

This is not a clickbait post. I made this analysis purely from a data perspective. Consequently, the explanations I find for the patterns might not be the correct ones or I might be missing certain categorizations. Of course, I read up on the car before I make a video, but I'm sure that the people over here have an expertise level way above that.

To give you an example, I discussed my video of the 911 997 on a Porsche forum and they actually helped to gather data which explained why the cabriolets were holding their value so much better. I.e they helped to find explanations behind the data.

Apparently, this is too much to ask over here.

To be honest, holding value is a secondary issue here... mine is a one of one in the world but I ain't hiding it in the garage until 2049. You also ref e92 in the thumbnail but have a pic of the e93 so I mean if you want to do sloppy work don't expect us to fix it for you.

"Data Perspective" this is your problem. There are so many factors when considering value of a car that pure data does not show you.

Not going to waste my time on the other factors you should have considered before making a video like this.

You also lost me at no leather, no nav being the reason why the 2010 is price so low.

That's what a clickbaiter would say... they're all old naive men on the Porsche forums they don't know any better..

We're a bunch of salty bastards here and have had other youtubers post their shit youtube vids all over with no real contribution to the forum. So when you show up and it's your first post on a topic we all kind of hate, this is the response you get.

Do some searches and you'll find several threads on the topic and the result being there is no good algorithm other than the cars are worth what people are willing to pay for them and that will continue into the future with depreciation being the long term trend.

I'm most offended by the fact its an E93 in the thumbnail. Of all the e9x's that have any hope in hell of being worth something someday, that isn't one of them.
