Back with my third m3

I purchased my first e92 m3 in September of 2009. It was space grey with black interior, a carbon roof, and DCT. The vehicle ran fantastically, and it gave me chance to learn so much about cars through its massive online community. I kept the car for 5yrs, 56k miles, before trading it out for a Jaguar F type. That v-8 exhaust hooked me.
I picked up my second 92 m3 in 2015 after realizing how much I missed the driving feel of this car. It was a 2011, ZCP, and also space grey with carbon roof and DCT. I loved the extended fox red interior and the ZCP stance. But it also had some major flaws: no M drive, no Sat radio, no blue tooth/phone, or comfort access. I sold it in 2016 and eventually added an AMG c63s coupe.
In fall 2018, I was ready to add another vehicle to the fleet and started looking at e9x again. I knew that it had to have to be 2011 or newer, with less than 40k miles, and had an exterior AND interior that was not black. After months of searching I found this 2012 e93 at a used car lot near my home. It was Moonstone, fully loaded (minus the competition pack) with extended Rust Brown interior, and black piano trims. It came with M performance exhaust installed, and only 19k miles on the odometer. While its cosmetic shape was rough, and has an accident in its history, the PPI showed that the car was strong mechanically. I decided to take a chance and make the purchase knowing that it would need some work to bring it to life. Over the next several months I spent countless hours cleaning and fixing up the cars. Here’s a quick run down of some major works/projects that was done on the car by me or by RRT in Sterling, VA:
• Leathernique the interior (twice)
• Gummy pledge all rubber parts
• Replaced floor mats
• Replaced door sills
• Wrap all chrome trims with satin black 3M vinyl
• Added carbon rear spoiler and front splitters.
• Replaced rob bearings
• New engine mounts
• New DCT pan
• New undertray
• New battery
• Alignment
• Adjust and lube the roof and its components

I had put on about four thousands miles since purchasing it in October of last year. The car now looks clean, drives strong, and performs like it’s new. Driving roof down with the sound blasting from the performance exhaust is bliss. Here are some pics of the old cars and the new one.

Thanks for sharing. It's encouraging to see someone with experience with the direct competition (C63 and the Jag) coming back to the E92.

Beautiful shots and congratulations. Whats your approach to using gummi pflege? I use it and just apply to seals and rubber parts but it random.

Congrats OP, I think Moonstone may be my all time favorite Individual color. So classy and shows off the lines of the car perfectly, well done.

I first clean the areas with water and cloth. Then generously apply the substance over. I start working from front to back and top to bottom of the car. My car sat out in Florida heat for a big part of its life the the trim needed about four applications to get them back to be decent again.

I didn't even know that it existed until I saw the car in person and fell in love with the interior/exterior combo.

Great colours.

I loved the pics of your second M3 so much it inspired me to get the same combo on the VFF-101s. I think it looks perfect on the Space Grey!

A few actually:
• Artkym style rear diffuser
• BBK (when the OEM set runs out of life)
• Wheels (can't decide if I want to go with a bright silver or dark colors)
• Dinan suspension
• Paint (May redo the whole car in the same color at some point if I don't end up doing a wrap of something else)

It had a whole lot of cosmetic issues in its original stage, and being an e93 it was easier to get the low price.

The paint is perfect why mess with factory individual color? 🤦*♂️ please don't redo the paint, I hope you're kidding lol

On the wheels, I'd go darker, gunmetal comps.
