I'd like to know this too. My car (2011 E90) goes to D2 when you put it in gear from start, curious to know what bits and bytes are swimming around in my DCT.
The same about mine, 4.2011. I bought it last year and went to the dealer to update all the software, I assume dct as well. Nothing has changed in dct since then - it starts with D2.
Maybe it is just wrong info that in stock it is S?

I wonder that too, I'd be very surprised if my car has the DCT tune. Perhaps it was changed on later cars to start in D2 (which honestly makes much more sense).

My car is a 2009. I recently had an issue with my DSC control module and it had to be replaced. Post replacement, the module had to be coded to the car. The technician told me all my software was outdated and was updated to the latest software available from BMW. My car no longer starts in D2. I suspect my car may have had a tune and it was wiped out with the coding/programming. To be honest, I can't tell if anything else is different. Who knows.

Just bought a 2013 ZCP and my 08 e93 shifts a lot harder/quicker. Not sure what has been done to it but assume it must have the DCT tune. Two questions: 1) Would the 2013 ZCP already have the GTS tune on the DCT?; 2) How does the GTS DCT tune compare to the Dinan DCT tune?

1. GTS tune was not stock on US cars, so if it has one, someone put it on.
2. All of the GTS tunes are basically the same from what I understand so I'd purchase the cheapest one and call it a day.

There is a way to tell if you have the gts flash. Start the car and move the dct stick to the right to engage drive. If your car defaults to D2 (drive with 2/6 in transmission setting) then you have the gts flash. If your car defaults to S1 then you do not have the flash

Curious does anyone know how much does the GTS tune differ from the most recent DCT software update from BMW? Although I have the GTS tune, I don't notice much of a difference aside from the reduction of the occasional buck when slowing down or start from a stop.

although it may be rare that people flash to euro dct, but please keep in mind that euro dct does the same so this verification is not 100%

I've flashed the GTS file (7845773) to my 335is and does indeed default to D2 and S5. Was the EU GTS ZB# ever posted up and tried?

You flashed the m3 gts flash on a 335is? I heard that's not possible as you guys don't have the same exact dct as an m3. The only flash I saw people do on the 335is is the 135is dct flash which lowers the rpm for launch control

Externally slightly different (oil cooler fittings), internally the same except for the software of course. Read my signature closely if you're on a PC. I've been able to modify my 335is to be damn near a 335is/M3 hybrid. The only thing I'm really missing that I want to do is the servo M3 rack and I need to get a modified IKM0S (1M) bin that will allow me to incorporate MDrive and make the Power console button functional (DSC off already is).

But you're correct, without a shitload of modifications the M3 software won't play on a 335is. At a minimum you need the center console trim with Drivelogic button, M3 GWS with boot and knob, a couple different connectors with repinning and a final drive ratio of 3.15, +/- 10% or so.

Does this software change the clamping force of the clutch? Anyone who tracks their car uses this software?

15mo later ...

PM the guy or hit up Alex@Alpine. Best bang for the buck on a DCT car.
