I am fortunate to have an attic, basement, and a giant 4ft. crawl space, but they are all pretty clean and organized. We don't keep a lot of useless crap, so all of my garage related stuff is in the cabinets/drawers.

Get another E9X M3 brother! Nothing sounds as good as this motor.

Don't think twice.

Ceiling is 96" and the door is in the way when it's open if the car is nose in, but the middle safety lock position on the posts is more than high enough for 99% of the stuff I do with my track car.

I ended up going with the epoxy anchors because I'm paranoid and I have two daughters and a wife. All of them hold 95 ft/lbs without issue, no pulling up or spinning. I love it. At one point I had a small piece of concrete spall under one of the bolts thanks to the plate not being 100% smooth/flush to the concrete, but that was a small piece that doesn't concern me much. The thickness of the slab was exactly 4" with a void, so I was forced to use hardware cloth. I regret using 1/4" because the epoxy was able to flow pretty easily through the openings (in the end, it worked just fine) so if I add any extra holes to allow for wider cars (I purchased extra anchors) I'll be using 1/8" hardware cloth.

I decided on higher quality fittings as well as skid steer quick release fittings and custom lines from Discount Hydraulics. The lines turned out great, but I went with connectors that don't swivel which quickly made running the hydraulic lines a bit of a challenge, especially when trying to connect two lines to a 90* elbow. After an order for some 90* swivel fittings, I was on my way.

I routed the lines up and over since I won't be moving the posts much and I wanted a wall mount solution for the pump. I borrowed a similar design I found here that I liked and went with that. Works like a charm.

Great product and the quality of life improvement over having to throw down jackstands and use a jack is worth it, no question.
Few questions I have since I am planning to get the same lift.

-How do you determine if concrete is thick enough to drill? (assuming you don't have any idea from previous owners/builder)
-Your ceiling height is close to same height as mine. Do you have enough access to do for example rod bearings work?
-Did you rent the tools to drill the concrete?

I appreciate your feedback

So my slab was poured by a previous owner in 2002, assuming it was done to code, I checked with the city to find minimum thickness for that time. There was a chance it was going to be either thicker than code or even thinner if the sub-contractor did a hack job. To measure thickness you have two options: You can get a long small diameter bit and a hammer drill then make a few small test holes at innocuous locations as not to have unsightly holes that you have to patch later. It would be mostly invisible anyway, but some people are anal like that. Your second option is to have an engineer come out with a sounding hammer and take some readings. That can get pricy however, but I found a guy in the SF Bay Area that would do it on his own time for $400. I didn't bother though. I had no idea what was going to be under the slab but I was prepared for the off chance there was a void underneath.

As far as height, the bottom hole on the MaxJax is actually fairly high. There is enough room to drop the oil pan on the E92M and just enough room for me to sit up with my head almost touching the car with my ass on the ground. FWIW I'm 6'2" with a fairly long torso. I actually drilled another hole near the bottom for a lower height that's similar to having the car on jack stands. It makes simple things like fluid changes, brakes and wheels way easier.

The hammer drill/bit part was surprisingly one of the more expensive parts of the process. So you can rent them from Home Depot, but it's not cheap and iirc the minimum time is four hours. Twenty four hour rental was ridiculously expensive. I purchased the 7/8" bit off of eBay, be sure to get a four tipped rebar cutter bit. That will prevent you from having to stop and buy another bit because you didn't know your concrete was rebar reinforced. Another thing to watch out for are the chuck types on the bits. SDS and SDS MAX is very different so be aware when buying/renting.

I was lucky that I have a general contractor we work with on our house that could loan me the hammer drill.

If you decide to use epoxy anchors instead of the wedge anchors that come with the lift, let me know. That's another ball of wax. Feel free to PM as well.

A couple shots from mine. The floor is a metallic epoxy. We put six coats to get it to look the way it does.

Nice looking floor! Is the epoxy professionally applied or is it the Rust-oleum Rock Solid Metallic?
