It's a photo forum so here's a snapshot of what I spent an inordinate amount of time detailing and ogling at today. And a few of its poor predecessors.

Also, I've spent a lot of time during my 45,000 miles obsessively maintaining my alcantara steering wheel. I love it but it takes some work. Most recommend cleaning methods I've used have never really worked that well but I just discovered that a terry towel drenched in Sonax interior cleaner draws out all the dirt and fluffs it up really nice. Mine was starting to look a bit beaten up until I tried this and I couldn't believe how much dirt came out. Also I bought a permanent ink fabric pen to to restore the color on the blue stripe that had got scratched up by my old wedding ring. I just taped off the alcantara, gently sanded down the leather stripe, cleaned it and painted with the fabric pen. It looks amazing, as you can see in the previous pics.

So if your alcantara wheel is looking tired this is a great way to restore it to new condition. And the best way I've found to easily clean it on a regular basis too. Amazing how resilient that fabric is.

More crappy iPhone pics but full alcantara center console and sun visors now installed.

Running out of things to do with this car. Anyone got any bad ideas. ?

It's still loud as F@ck but otherwise I love it and it is pretty tame at low revs. Will post dyno and vid soon. Absolutely love this set up.

2. More interior upholstery inbound. Center console hopefully going in tomorrow. My sleeper upholstery guy is amazing. Just wish I could find LSB seat belts to finish off the interior. And just wish I had the will to remove the dash and upholster that bad boy. And the money. No doubt that would really finish it off.

On a side note and more interesting topic than my car, this forum has really quietened down lately. Am I the only one still enjoying my E90 enough to not want an F80?
I'm definitely enjoying my E90 enough not to want an F80. I have never driven an F80, but they look to big and visually the front and rear bumpers are kind of train wrecks with all the weird edges and ridges they have.

More driving, less modding recently hence my absence, including deciding unequivocally to grow up and trade up to an m5. Then I start enjoying it more than ever cos it's sort of "finished", a touch better than when stock, and I know I won't have it long so need to make the most of it. Changed my mind of course so immediately bought a new set of super sports so I'm commuted And back to the modding nonsense soon I expect. So not much to offer up except a few pics of the old girl posing in charming rural beauty spot.

But wow, the extra grip over my old 255/295 AD08 R's is night and day up front esp when cold (albeit now running 265/30/19 up front). Car feels way more balanced and stable up front in sharp turns/braking than previous

Also worth noting how notably quieter these are than even a new set of the AD08's. Amazing tires/value. Zero rubbing.

Limey,

I saw your car last whilst in Mission Viejo, Crown Valley Pkwy. Lovely car.

Sounds cliché, but the M3 shows much better in person, pictures cannot capture the look.

Not sure I'd give it up for an M5, but that's not for me to decide.

I've been using the F80/82 OEM Spec PSS with the BMW Star (255/35/19, 275/35/19), and I think they match well with the car since they were designed to handle the torque of the F80/82. Apparently Michelin has different compounds and tread blocks for different applications/collaborations.

Thank you. I just ordered its successor and I'm out of space, so I'll be kicking the wife's car out on the street at this rate until it sells.

I really tried to like the new M cars. I just couldn't do it.
