FEELER: 2009 E90 Space Gray / Fox Red / MT

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Curious what the market looks like for my e90:

-2009 e90 Space Gray / Fox Red Interior
-MT
-71k miles (I bought in early 2019 from a member on here with 59k.... had another member check it out for me before I had it shipped from WA to GA).
-Since I've owned it:
*replaced diff fluids
*replaced trans fluid
*replaced spark plugs
*replaced brake fluid
*3x oil changes of course
*new 359 wheels / square setup.
*RB and TA are original.
*Exterior is in really good shape... 8-9/10 ... more or less same with interior.
-Car drives strong and no current known issues.
-Does have a RPI cat back exhaust on it .. but will pass emissions.

Not even close to sure if I want to sell but curious what the market looks like right now.

Few pics below... let me know if you have any questions or if I missed any obvious details.

Great color combo. Are the wheels OEM? Post the VIN so people can look at the option sheet and Carfax.
Pretty sure forum rules require posting a price. But understand you're looking to see if it's worth selling. Market has softened in general, but a manual sedan of course commands a premium.

Any accidents or other CarFax blemishes? How many owners has it had?

99% no issues on carfax... I should have that some where from when I bought it. I'm only leaving 1% chance in case my memory fails me.

I think I'm the 4th owner. I have some service history from before me.

I haven't had to take it to the shop since I've owned it since I performed all the maintenance on it but I do have a mileage spreadsheet showing when all maint items were complete and receipts for fluids, plugs, etc.

Again this is just a feeler.... if I put up for sale I will provide a lot more detail, do a video walk around, etc.

Not sure if he is still around but @jiggz was the member that looked at it for me before I bought it, test drove it, etc. He could attest to the condition at that point at least.

I think if you’re contemplating about selling and already made a thread on it, just post a price that you seal the deal happy/content and see where it goes from there.

If it’s too high I’m sure you’ll know cause there probably wouldn’t be much interest, then you can consider lowering it if you really want to sell it.

Without the rod bearings done I would say you could list it for $40k and probably get mid $30's for it. However, there does appear to be a huge disconnect at the moment between sellers and buyers of E9X M3's . . as can be witnessed by the really nice SGM 2011 ZCP that was listed on BaT last week: dealer had listed it for $49k and got no interest, then decided to list it on BaT with a reserve of $42k .. and bidding only reached $34k. Yes, it was a DCT, but it was also a competition package and the rod bearings had been done. April to August of 2022 seems to have been the peak of the market!

I remember chatting with you when you were looking to buy. We scoped it deep and it looked to be a solid car. I’ll be building my barn soon. Maybe I’ll take it off your hands then!

As a potential buyer I find these posts to be a waste of time. If you want to understand current market values then post in the general forum, that is what it is for. I view the for sale/wanted/trade forum for active sales listings, not the I’m not sure I want sell but tell me how much you are willing to pay listings. Other forums don’t allow this, not too sure why it is accepted here. If you have a vehicle for sale then list it with a price, that’s how the real world works.

I'm still here I remember seeing/driving this car prior to you buying it (I was simply offering an independent, unbiased opinion of the car - I was local to the seller but already had an E90). It drove really well & was in great condition - I assume it still is given the few miles you've put on it. And it looks much better now with the 359's.

Have you considered reaching out to the person you bought it from? I know it's been a few years but he was looking for another E90 at some point after selling this one (I think he sold this to buy a house maybe?).

This is a hard spec to find, should command good $ if you do decide to sell.

Lovely car. I would price this at 50k and take no less than 47k.

Sorry man - not trying to frustrate potential buyers; in hindsight, should have posted this in the general forum.

I'm leaning towards an official listing but do want to clean it up, get all the details together, better pics/video, etc. Stay tuned.

I did hear from Blake back in 2021 but he was back in the market for a DCT I think.

You and spazzyfry123 were both very helpful in my search and I still appreciate the time you took to check in out in person/test drive/etc.

I am sure I will regret selling this down the road but that seems to be the case for all my prior cars; the unfortunate reality of a car enthusiast who can't financially or logistically keep all the cars throughout their lives.

Straight up. All these "sellers" trying to fish the highest bid they can get and even then most of the time they are not serious enough to sell if!

Why dont you buy this at 47k since you think its worth so much? I bet you dont even buy this for 43k.

I'd say thats on the money, mid 30s are what 6MT E90s are commanding on BAT. With a couple outliers to either side. Should just make a proper listing and see what the reception is.

Don't listen to the person suggesting you list this for $50k .. you'll get absolutely zero interest at that asking price. Here's an auction that just ended on BaT today. Yes, its a 2008 and yes it has a thousand miles more than yours. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-bmw-m3-sedan-33/
