Apologies if this has already been posted. I searched and didn't find anything that matched this exact problem.

Since the weather has gotten hot and sunny, I noticed the edge of the leather trim on my center console starting to loosen and peel away a bit, where it would normally be taught and tucked under the "lip" of the trim (see photos attached). It's almost as if the heat from the sun loosened the adhesive that holds the upholstery in place.

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think it would be possible to DIY fix, or better to bring to an interior repair specialist?

I priced out replacing the entire console, but they seem to be up around $800 new, which to me is excessive relative to the problem itself. Would be open to a used one in mint condition, but it's pretty rare to find one for sale unless from a totaled car that matches my interior.

I should add that I bought a used car cover from another forum member this weekend to save her from excessive sun/heat until I can clear enough room in the garage.

Consult youtube for instruction, remove center console and utilize the following adhesive (less than 5 dollars). Apply glue, wait 5 minutes, wrap leather which has come loose. Once it is secure, it will never come loose again.
