Weird SES codes
Today I took the M out for the first time in a few weeks just to get get all the fluids moving and turn the tires. After about 8-9 miles I got an SES code (increased emissions). Drive-abilityv did not seem effected at all.
When I got home and scanned the codes, I got DTC 2728 (P2297) and DTC 2729 (P2298). The code description says something along the lines of "pre-cat o2 sensors out of range" for bank 1 and bank 2. Weird that both would go out at once? The car is a 2011, and only has 20k miles. It does not get driven too much and not at all in the winter (maybe 4K per year). I recently installed a SS catless xpipe about 300-400 miles ago. I got a map from alpine that is stock map with cel delete so so don't think it could be that. I have an appointment with ACM (who installed the exhaust). But wondering if anyone has had this happen to them shortly after going catless. It was very cold today (under 32 F). Maybe just being finicky? For now I will clear the code, and try to drive the car a little to see if it comes back, but any input is appreciated. |

Maybe they just accidentally left the primary o2 sensors unplugged or stressed a common connection between the two. Out of range tells me they're not reading anything, open circuit. Ive heard of stock tunes going 500 miles before throwing emissions codes on modified exhausts. Maybe it hasn't been good since the modification? Sometimes they ship x pipes with plugs in o2 sensor ports, make sure your installer didn't leave the o2 sensor out thinking the tune didn't need them..
