Bought in 2011, 98k miles as a daily the whole time. Still love the car and no regrets. E93 with the top down in the January sun; nothing better.

Daily mine, including through Canadian winter. No regrets! It was designed as a daily by BMW from day one, so I think of it as just using it for its purpose.

I drive mine most days during the warm season (April - November). It would probably do great in the winter on snow tires but I prefer to keep it out of the salt.
The E92 is surprisingly comfortable even with 2 small kids in the back (1 front facing 3 year old, 1 rear facing 1 year old) and my wife up front. Not ideal for trips longer than an hour but considering what you're asking from a coupe it does well. Can fit a small stroller, a medium stroller, and kids bags in the trunk. I use the crap out of it for all activities - commuting, track days, hauling stuff. Of course for longer trips and heavier duty I use the F15 X5 which is truly a stellar do it all car.

It's my only car so it's my daily (although for longer trips to Dallas/Austin where I won't have my own garage to park her for the weekend I borrow a family members car). I only have a 7ish mile round trip commute but I drive her on the weekend and backroads a lot. Bought her in October 2021 with 57k miles, now at 66k miles.

I've been using my car as a daily in the PNW for about 4 years now. My work commute is really short, about 4000 miles a year. Car is DCT and supercharged, 35k on the clock.
Only downside of daily driving this car other than MPG is that it gets pretty cold in WA state and the car takes forever to warm up. |

I daily drove mine for 7 years. Picked it up with 25,000 and now we’re at 245,xxx. I was given a work vehicle but I miss the hell out of the M3. She’s retired from work except Fridays but it’s my main car when not working. I’ve done so many oil changes that it only monitors oil level now. The electric dipstick does not alert for changes anymore. There isn’t enough memory in the ECU after so many changes. Since I did 5,000 mile intervals I killed it lol.

Thank you so much everyone. I believe I'm gonna go the E90 DCT route. The wife made a good point regarding for when her mother comes in to town to watch the baby(s) (another on the way), that grandma will need an automatic car to drive just in case lol. We have an S2000 for weekends without the kids, and a 5 speed Honda Fit as our other daily. I'd get rid of the Fit, but I like having a paid off Honda with 90k only on it.
From everything I've read and researched, the DCT definitely justifies itself for us standard tranny folk. So I won't be upset about having my first M car be auto. I also imagine the 7th gear gives better mileage, as I will probably be putting 15-20k a year on it. I just need to find a clear cut answer on whether or not to change DCT fluid, and at what mileage, as I've read BMW states it for life of the car. That just sounds too good to be true however. Any of you care to chime in on that and keep the thread going? This has been a fun and successful first thread on this forum lol. |

Still daily after the 10 years of ownership and 55k miles. Plan to keep driving it daily until it dies.

I did for about 10 years and 95k miles. I still drive it about once a week since I picked up my X3M almost a year ago. No major issues to be honest. Car has pretty reliable other than a throttle actuator problem and leaky door seals. I got just over 90k on the original brakes!
Did rod bearings, brakes, and fresh tires last year. Planning valve covers and a fresh battery this year, along with some driving events. I plan to hold onto it for a few more years as my fun car. My X3M is absurdly fast, but the driving experience of my E90 M3 is so much more fun.

14 months of ownership, 10k miles added; 48k to 58k now, no regrets. The whole point of the car is to enjoy it.

Gonna go against the grain of most here as I do not daily my M3. I find that because I do not drive it everyday I appreciate it much more. I think a lot of people get bored of their cars because they are constantly driving them.
That being said these cars are extremely comfortable and I can see why people do use them as DD’s. |

I daily mine, 2008 6spd Harrop supercharged and KW V3s set to mild. currently at ~49K and counting. With Michelin PS A/S 3 it has been a champ through the cold and wet German winters. Take it up to at least 150 Mph everyday on the way to work. Only time I don't drive is when there's snow on the ground (which is not very often where I am), as they salt the roads pretty fierce over here. In the summers I alternate between the e93 and F13 usually at a ratio of 3-2. Still feels very special every time I get behind the wheel.

It's not impossible to run a modified car in Germany, it's just a little more involved than in the US. Most aftermarket parts have to have a TÜV certificate (Teilegutachten), which the KWs do as they were purchased here in Germany and come with the certificate. For other modifications that don't come with a TÜV certificate sometimes you have to have a special inspection done ($$-$$$$) to have the parts certified. All modifications are documented and kept in a booklet that is the German equivalent of a US title (Fahrzeugbrief).

I would say my e90 is my daily driver (only car is more like it) however it is definitely not driven daily. I work from home 75% of the time. When I do have to be in office, one week per month, it is 15 miles away. My wife has an suv that sees some mileage during weekend family trips.
