South Florida - 2022 Track Events Discussion Thread

As I start to plan a few upcoming track days, thought I'd share some info and see if there are any other events out there and perhaps we can use this thread to share events we are going to.

I am planning to do Homestead and Sebring at least once before summer hits.

I did a PDG event last year at Sebring and it went well.

A few friends and I are aiming to do the PDG event 2/20 at Homestead.

First track night of 2022 was a success.

No performance related changes, mainly tested out the cooling system maintenance I did including an oil diverter valve and Slon DCT pan. This was a much cooler day with temps around the 70F mark, so it's a little hard to tell if the changes had a positive impact vs my previous events at 90F. Oil temps didn't go above the 3/4 mark (~255F). Previously towards mid-session I'd have to back off as temps got above that mark and kept going.




Looking forward to the next event, currently aiming for PDG event on 2/20 at Homestead.

Hoping to have my new wheel setup and different tires for the next event.

I'll be at most of, if not all, NASA events this year (racing a spec e30). I also hope to make it out in my m3 to some other events. But it will need new tires and shocks first.

Just registered for the May 21 PDG event at homestead after a long hiatus. Will be in the intermediate group. Hope to see you there!

Looks like my new wheels won't be here until late march/april. But ill probably still try to attend the 2/20 date at homestead.

Another event in the bag, this time Homestead Miami Speedway, haven't driven this track in my car and only the 2nd time on it.

Had a blast.


My lap timer was acting up and didn't record video for most of it, but I was able to get a few okay laps on video, here is one:

Here are Youtube links to my track videos; had trouble getting Lap Timer to load the track and then a session or two to work out the video kinks. For some reason Lap Timer did not pickup my bluetooth OBD reader (not sure the gps was coming in very well either to get accurate speeds) but did get some videos. I will have to upgrade my system for the next track day.

A few others are planning to visit around lunch for the Parade laps also.

The organizers are planning to reserve a section of the garage for us.
