The choices in the poll are very limited biased and constricting, so I will not select any of those choices. I'm also too lazy to read the whole thread, I get the general idea just from the title.

Yes my brakes screech and squeak, but it doesn't bother me. This is getting redundant: If the stiff manual transmission, groaning diff, ticking diff, screeching brakes, humming tires, thumping lightened flywheel noise, etc. etc. etc. get on your nerves, you got the wrong car.

The M is a performance vehicle, and comes designed with performance in mind. Comfort comes at the expense of performance. The more comfort you have, the less performance you have. The best of car companies know how to balance these well in order to appeal to consumers who want daily drivers, then lean one way or another depending on consumer needs. You just happened to have purchased a vehicle that leans more towards performance than comfort.

If you wanted a car that's more quiet and comfortable, but still quick, there's C63 AMG and Lexus IS-F. I've been in both, and they are super-quick couches. Especially the AMG: the only noise that comes from that car is from the engine bay.

There's an easy remedy for this. Get some organic economy pads, and Brembo universal blank rotors for good measure. Your braking power will suffer, of course. But if you want a Camry-quiet ride from your brakes, that'll go a long way.

My poll answer: Yes; And I don't care, since it's an ///M, and it's a sign that the ///M is doing it's job.

Normal for performance breaks. I had Hawk brake pads on my other car and they squealed.
