This would only make sense if it caught fire via the blower motor wiring within a few days lol

Ah was it $23k CAD or USD? I actually thought about importing a car from Canada since the exchange is in our favor over here

Not sure. I haven't checked the markets or exchange lately.

From when I was looking a year or 2 ago yes by a lot. I was finding low mileage m3's 10-30k miles for 20-25k after the exchange. But you gotta pay a bunch of import fees. Idk how it is now though markets change for cars

Not sure. Looks as if it was the driver side. Mechanically it looks good. It has been painted. The paint isn't up to my standard but the car will be wrapped and it's a track rat so no worries.

I would typically shy away but it is going to be a track car and therefore it isn't as much of a concern.
$6000 could have been a fender bender where the headlamps, bumper, and hood needed repairs. As others have said, costs balloon very fast.

Glad to see you took it, seems like a nice deal for a clean car.

For sure. When it goes through insurance, the shops jack the prices up. A fender, door and bumper cover will run you 8k or so.

Likely why the person had it done privately as they were paying out of pocket.

Unfortunately, not all the shops are the same.

The car is solid and has performed well on track. This winter will involve the weight reduction
