Long right-hand sweeping turns 2 & 8 are very hard on the front outside tire for sure, but still... what a disappointment w/ PSS & Michelin.

Not as bad as picts shown in the following post/thread, but WTF.

What were the TPs on them? I remember the last time that happened to me was my TPs were way too high, like 43+ psi.

I'm sure it was high. Before the 1st session, they were at 35 psi, and my intention was to adjust it after the 1st session.

Had no idea that the 1st session would turn into a (not many people showed up) 13 lap marathon (instead of the usual 5 laps). It was fun, but tiring. Plus, I was running hard, and turns 2 & 8 were really hard on the outside front tire (hence, only that front driver's side tire got corded & chunked). In retrospect, the tire pressure & temp must've skyrockted over those 13 continuous laps.

Then, after we came in, I was so thirsty & exhausted that I forgot to check the tire pressures before going out for the 2nd session. X)

Oh well, expensive lesson learned.

What you mean don't mess around with TPs????

I thought you should make it lower.... so it doesn't get too hot?

I put mine at 35 Cold R 33 Cold F

heated up to 40

I wasn't pushing it hard though. I was really more crusing lol. and my times were much slower than before (IIRC, I got 1:45 or 1:44 last time, I got 1:46 this time)

Yeah, from now on, I'm going to pay extra attention to TP. Plus, with so many tracks going CW, a bit of less TP on the outside/drivers-side tires too.

What you want to do is...set the cold pressures,go out there do 4-5 hard laps after the warm up lap.Exit while the session is still going on,without a cool down lap.Take a measurement of all tires and adjust right then and there.Resume session and try to get a feel of what's going on under you and make the small adjustments when session is over.By doing a cool down lap at the end of the session and trying to get measurements after the tires have dropped in temps, will yield inaccurate numbers.
