Question about lowering the rear coilovers (fortune auto)

I have a fortune auto coilovers and i need to lower it. I tried lowering it through the springs but the black thing rotates with the collar.
So do i really need to unbolt the LCA again, lower the lca, adjust the springs, and then adjust the shock preload? That seems a lot of work just to adjust the height. Is there any faster way?

Also another question for those who have fortune auto. Is there supposed to be a rubber between that black thing and the chassis? I bought mine used

EDIT: yes, i loosened the hex bolt before adjusting it

I know manufacturers use preload when discussing this setup which is, obviously, in the rear of our cars. You have two adjustments here which is spring perch and shock body length. There is no spring preload adjustment available in that picture. If you want to change the ride height, the green collar the spring is sitting on absolutely needs to spin independently of the black perch. Then you need to be sure the shock body length is set correctly so that it is both not bottoming out before you run out of suspension travel and also not limiting drop travel by being too short.

See the last issue a lot and it completely wrecks both ride and handling. Most common with "shop X charges too much for me for coilover install so I found dude Y to do it for much less."

I had the same issue with the KW HAS kit.

I used double faced tape on the top to hold it to the car. I don't expect it to last long but it lasted long enough for me to make several adjustments soon after.

I thought about cutting a small slot or drilling a hole I could put a screw driver into to hold it but figured I try tape first.

Garage List
I usually just spray some lube on the threads and hold the upper part with one hand and it stays while I adjust the perch.
