No such thing as greater than or less than when it comes to something like that. It comes down to what you love. That's it. You can argue the 0-60 time differences or how the dct mates with the s65 very well but at the end of the day it's what YOU want to drive. Period.

With this kind of cash drop I would not take the word of others. Were I you I would see if I could find one of each for sale in your area and try them both. The DCT is so much better than prior "auto's" in M cars, as all the SMG's were sad jokes by comparison. That said, out of the box they have a number of drivability issues that coding can reduce. Also, maintenance is costly when required and some issues are common (leaks from a number of locations being the main problem) so be prepared for that going in (The PO of my car had to come off $1200 in service costs when my PPI discovered leaks coming from 2 places).
On the other hand, manuals are, well.... Manuals. Row your Own. DIY. There is nothing special about the manual gearbox, but there doesn't need to be. Clutches should last at least 100k depending on use and driving habits, and other than changing fluids there really is no maintenance to be done. For me, I have a manual as a daily and so I get my fix that way. When it is the weekend, I prefer the DCT as it performs fantastic with minimal effort and even my wife can drive it (though she doesn't like to, too loud....SMH). And of course it is quicker in just about all important metrics. So, I am happy with it. If I didn't have a manual daily I might have gotten a 6-speed. YMMV
