Back to an Evo 9 ??
I've notice some people here have come over from EvolutionM and had evo 9s from various posts.
I currently am on my second e90, this one is a 2009 CPO car w/ 40k and under warranty until 2/15. I also really miss my past Evos, the last one being a 06 evo 9 with 350-400 hp. Car was very quick, handled better than anything else, and I have been a die hard Mitsu/4g63 car for years so I know them very well. That being said, I constantly miss that car, and can't believe the value on 2006 9 cars. I sold mine for 26.5 in 2007 and it's worth around the same if not a few $$ less for a qaulity example. Sooo, I have been on the fence about selling the m3 for a nice 400hp daily Evo 9. I know the pros and cons, just looking for feedback. Anyone else go back? I just turned 31 and have had 25-30 cars so I recognize I have issues and really just love cars. So what say You?? |

So I think whatever makes you happy. If you are happier in the Evo then by all means I would go after it. |

sounds pretty arrogant maybe (?). if this is a competition I have bought and sold a house @ 25-26 in NY and have also owned cars and financed cars. My first car was bought with a savings bond and I have been buying/selling since. I have never really lost much and My money is in the bank; let the banks finance my cars @ 2%. thanks for the financial lesson though |

That was not my intent. I asked a simple question and you got defensive. Typical from younger people and known. So that being said if you don't like an honest question then thats on you and you can easily push the back button and ignore my post. Never asked for a financial resume from you, but thanks. So that brings me back to if you want an Evo 9 I would go for it. |

I won't lie... I miss my '06 hawkeye STi as well... I was making 310whp/315tq, that was before my 20g turbo/headers/injectors/FP setup, which could have made 400+whp easily. But unfortunately the neighbor across the street from my sisters place decided to back up into my parked car which as a result took out both passenger side doors and bent in the b-pillar... So immediately after repairs I traded it in for my previous M3. I really do miss the AWD turbo feeling... I even contemplated a GTR before picking up my current M3...

My evo ix mr was 425awhp/411awtq. It was real fast and fun and looked real nice but the crowd is totally different now.
Cant compare the two though really?? Maybe a used rs4 if you want 4 doors, 400hp and awd. |

hey! Former EvoM member here too! Same age, also own a E90 M3. I owned an 03 Evo 8 mildly modified between 2004 and 2010. I sold my car stock for $13k. I can't believe Evo 9s are holding value. Though it sounds about right. I think the Evo 9 MR is probably the best Evo ever exported to the US.
Anyways, sounds like you really love the Evo, in that case, you should just pick up another one and sell the M3. You already know the pros and cons, not much insight i can give you. One thing for sure, I will NEVER go back to an Evo 8/9. I love the M3 too much. It's the perfect car for me. Here is my very non-technical review on EvoM review of the M3 vs the Evo 8 http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=400582 http://forums.evolutionm.net/other-c...s-evo-8-a.html Last edited by mdosu; 08-03-2013 at 06:24 PM.. |

Getting pulled over on a monthly basis was getting tiring, only to be let go shortly after. Took the wing off and it got better. Yes the Evo was balls fast, especially on the track and while I miss my Evo ix, I would not go back if it meant selling the M. Now, getting an Evo as a second car or possibly third...then yes I would get one again.

If I were you I wouldn't sell the M3 for an Evo. Get the Evo as a weekend/fun car.
I used to own an Evo 7 and Evo 8 and the latter was somewhat modded. |

Personally 31 which is my age is just way too old to be cruising in a fart-can mobile. I guess it depends on who you are, but to me that was a car in my early 20's or teens. In my 30s as I have matured and made money, the evo is not something a mature 30 year old really should be looking at. If the m3 is not enough power than get a supercharger or a tuned 335 or step up to an m5. That is the right direction. Back to an evo is frankly embarrassing to drive around in if you ask me unless it is a dedicated track car.

I'm sorry but you sound like a stereotypical stuck up BMW snob owner. so you are another reason to get away from M cars for a bit. What does age have to do with what I drive? Fart-can mobile? |

The decision is going to hinge on whether you're more interested in balls out fast, or fast and luxe. So here's my very simple advice to decisions that have you on the fence: a good ol' pros and cons list. If that doesn't work, then try this: You have five seconds to make your choice: WHAT'S IT GOING TO BE?!? Whatever that answer is, that's probably where your heart lies. Good luck! Cheers
